Chapter Seven

I walked back to the room in a huff and sat down ‘So how did it go?’ Liam asked.

‘Oh absolutely excellent!’ I snapped.

‘Calm down what happened?’ he asked calmly.

‘I can’t calm down and I can’t say’

‘Shall we go somewhere a bit more private?’

‘Um sure’ I nodded.

He got up and brought me up to the roof.

‘Okay tell me what happened...’

I told him what happened.

‘Oh...’ he said.

‘Yeah, what about you how did you get on?’

‘They didn’t even look at me, I just showed off my strength then they told me to leave’

‘Yeah’ I really was starting to miss home, I miss Sarah, my mother, even Naks. I just wanted to go home.

Liam looked at me from the corner of his eye. ‘Are you alright?’ he asked.

‘Yeah, I just really miss home, I miss my family, and Naks’

‘Yeah I miss the boys and my parents, knowing that I might not see them again haunts me’

‘You will, you’re smart Liam you will get home, I don’t know about me’

‘You have more experience than me you can hunt’

I just shrugged. Cinna walked up to the roof ‘There you’s are... The show will be starting soon’

I know what I’m going to get a big fat zero peering across the screen. I bet you that’s what I will get.

‘Come on’ Liam said as he started to walk back into the room, I followed saying nothing.

Haymitch stumbled into the room ‘There you are sweetheart I heard what you done today’

Everyone knows. Brilliant.

‘Height of disrespect!’ Effie spluttered out.

‘I’m sorry I just got angry’

Haymitch sat down and winked ‘Nice job sweetheart’

The show started going through what the scores were today. Went through each districts. The boy from 2 Cato got a ten. All the way to 11 Rue got a 7. She must have been good.

It got to 12, starting with Liam. Ceasar Flickerman looked at his paper ‘Liam Payne got a score of 9’

‘Well done’ I smiled at him.

‘Thank you’

‘Now Lauren Larkin, with a score of.....’ there was a pause until he read out my score ‘11’

Eleven out of twelve. ‘I thought they hated me’

‘Well there must have been something about you they liked Sweetheart’ Haymitch said.

Liam patted me on the shoulder ‘Well done’

‘Thank you’ I mouthed.

‘You’re welcome’

Cinna smiled and hugged me.

‘Well off to bed the two of you you’s have the interviews tomorrow’ Effie said.

‘Oh yeah okay’ I nodded and headed to my room ‘Hey Lauren?’ I heard a voice behind me.

‘Yeah?’ I turned to see Liam.

He opened his mouth as thought to say something but decided not to ‘Goodnight’
