Found and Saved

A few games later

So when the games came rolling around the next day, Hannah and I did the same thing we did every other time, we followed the river and hid in the cave. The morning after we were called back as usual because we had not found our mate. This went on for a while but a few games after....everything changed.

It started off normal, like any other time. We put on our jumper and go into the waiting room. The woman called for us and we stood on the white line, we hear the gun shot, we ran to the cave. In the cave we waited...this is were it changed.

Hannah sniffs the air and looks at me. "Loralie...bring me to the end of the pond."

"Wait...what? Why?"

"I don't know...just do it....please" She pleads.

"Ok fine."

She hopped onto my back and we swam to the edge of the pond. One out of the water she started sniffing the air again frantically and then out of no where, stopped and stared at a bush. I knew that look on her face...she found her mate. But a bush??? Really??? A little boy suddenly jumped out of the bush and stared at Hannah with the same look. Ok...that makes a lot more sense. They stood there for a while and then they sparked small talk.

"How old are you...and whats your name?" he asked

Hannah looked at me and I nodded my head telling her it was ok. Did she need my permission or something? "I'm Hannah and I'm ten years old...what about you?"

"My name is Josh...and I'm 12 years old." he smiled and Hannah smiled back. This was so cute.

"Anyways..." I say cutting the awkward silence. "Would you like to stay with us Josh until the games are over?"

"Yes please, I was alone for this game because my brother left with his mate."

"Who's your brother?"

"His name is Caleb. He's my older brother."

I smiled at that name that brought back memories. "We actually know him. His mate is Emma, our friend."

"Ya...he was so happy that he found his mate so he put me in here hoping I would find my mate...and I did."

"Cool...let's get going now." They both nod their heads and walk behind me holding their hands. Aw..... so cute, young love. We get to the pond, Josh said he could swim so I put Hannah on my back and we dive into the water to come up on the other side of the falls. When night falls, they slept huddled together against the warmth of my wolf.

"Hey Nina?"

"Ya Loralie?"

"What happens if our mate is a rogue? I don't want him to die..."

"Me neither...I won't let them hurt him though if we do find him and he is a rogue, I promise you that." I growl.

"Agreed and I will help. We will tear the people who would want to hurt him and rip them to shreds."

"Agreed...hey Nina?"

"Ya?"

"I'm glad I have you as my wolf." I say.

"I'm glad to have you as my human." she purrs.

I talk with Nina a little bit more and then we both fall asleep to the heart beat of two werewolf children against us.
