They finally arrived at the department. Jack stepped out and had a good stretch before grabbing his bag from the car.

"See ya at lunch, fool!" Jack shouted as he walked towards the department, waving his hand with a grand smile on his face.

"I want to work on cases too, not patrol these boring streets every single day." Jack murmured to himself.

Two hours into his patrolling, Salem was at a petrol station, when an announcement was made on the radio.

"Officer 309, Officer 309, do you hear me?"

The man on radio sounded very rushed.

"Affirmative"

"We've had reports of a high level suspect seen on Street 43. Normally we wouldn't send an Officer after him but we are in a desperate situation here and you are the closest reporting officer to him. Suspect is in a black two-door sports car. License plate XRYZ 403. Pursue him at once."

"Roger that"

"Today's my lucky day." Salem gave himself a half smile in the rear-view mirror.

He quickly paid for the petrol, turned the sirens on and shifted his gear into drive with a sudden jerky movement.

Salem drifted on to Street 43 and he immediately saw the suspect's car just a few hundred metres down the road.

He had been spotted because the car's tires let out a loud screech and dust blew up into the air as the driver attempted a successful burnout. The car burst into motion and its high acceleration was a real shocker to Salem. Nevertheless, this was Salem's opportunity and he wasn't going to let it pass.

He stomped on the accelerator harder than ever and started pursuing the suspect.

Five minutes into the chase and the suspect had already shown his incredible driving skills, dodging cars at the last moment and drifting into extremely narrow streets. It was clear that this wasn't his first time being chased. Or maybe he was a racer. Suddenly, the suspect's car started making jerky movements left and right and it seemed like he was losing control. About five seconds later he crashed head on into a pole and the car's bonnet sprung upwards, letting out a flow of steam. The car had overheated.

Salem brought his car to a sudden stop and reached for his Glock, turning the safety off as he stepped out of his car.

"Out of the car with your hands up!" Salem shouted as he proceeded to aim at the driver's door.

The suspect's door opened slowly and the man placed his leg on the footpath.
