"Ellie! Wake up, it’s time for school!" my mum yells from downstairs. I bolted upright in surprise. Did we even lock the door last night? What would have happened if she came in and saw Christian in my bed? I get up and lock my door before going back over to my bed and waking Christian up.

A startled squeak escaped my lips as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me down on top of him. "I don't want to get up yet," he mumbled, burying his face in my hair.

"You have to get up." I tell him. "We have school."

"Forget school," he muttered, rolling us over. "Can't we skip and spend the day doing nothing?"

"I wish, but my mum won’t let me stay home unless I'm sick and then she'd make me stay in bed all day."

"Ah, but doesn't she go out to work? She won't know that I'm in bed with you," he said, smirking.

I giggle. "How would you stay home?"

"No one would even be home to know if I left or not," he said, shrugging.

"Your parents have already gone to work?"

"Yeah, they are always out before I wake up."

"That sucks." I kiss his cheek.

"Not really," he said, giving me a smile. "It means they won't notice if I skip." I kiss him softly.

I sighed in defeat. "You want to skip with me then?"

"Sure." He grinned and kissed my forehead.

"I'll see you in a bit." I gave him one last kiss before he disappeared through my window. When I get up I get a sharp pain in my stomach and lean over. Shit, I have my period...

I groaned in frustration and called my mum, who appeared in my doorway instantly. "Sweetie, what's wrong?"

"Cramps." I manage to say.

"Oh, sweetie," she said. "Okay, you go to the bathroom and I'll tell the school you aren't going in today," she told me, pushing my hair away from my face. I carefully make my way into the bathroom and get out the aspirin. Once I took some, I lay back down on my bed and curled into a ball, hating that I couldn't do anything with Christian now. I squeeze my eye shut. It hurts so much.

My mum kissed my forehead and when I opened my eyes, I saw her frowning. "It'll pass, sweetie." I nodded. "I have to go to work; will you be okay on your own?"

"Yeah, can you just get the heating pad and fan for me?"

"Okay, just give me a minute." I watched her walk away and then closed my eyes.  A few minutes later, she brings in the fan and gives me the heating pad after she turns it on.

"Thanks, mum," I said quietly.

"You're welcome. Be good," she said, kissing my forehead before leaving the room.

"Thanks mum." I murmur again.

Just under an hour later, the sound of my window opening made me pry my eyes open and look over. I look at him and whisper, hi.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, quickly sitting down and rubbing his thumb along my cheek.

"Cramps." I tell him.

He nodded his head and frowned. "Do you want me to go?" he asked quietly.

"No, stay, please."

"Okay," he said quietly, leaning forward and kissing my forehead before lying down next to me.

I cuddle up to him. "Thank you." We laid in silence; Christian would run his fingers up and down then kiss my shoulder. I snuggle up to him more, I love being with him and I can’t believe he’s here with me. Christian kissed my hair and rested his chin on my shoulder. "Thank you for staying with me."
