Twenty minutes later we pulled up outside Sam's house and got out. I looked at the people walking past before heading inside. Just as I'm about to go into the house, I turn and look again. A boy sitting on the bench with his headphones in made me walk back down the steps and frown. He looks familiar.
"El, where you going?" Robbie asked me, realising I wasn't going into the house with them.
"I'll be right in." He nodded his head slowly before going inside. I walked further towards the boy and frowned, I was sure I've seen him somewhere. I go over and tap his shoulder. "Excuse me, but do I know you?"
The boy looked up at me with a raised eyebrow but then I saw him smile. "Ellie?"
"Yeah, that's me," I said, nodding my head slowly. "Um," I bite my lip. "Who are you?"
"I'm Justin," he said, shifting to look at me straight on. "You visited your cousin," he said, pointing to the house behind me. "Two years ago and we met when she took you to that party."
"Oh! Right, I remember!" Wow.. We danced and well, not just an innocent dance... I think we even made out...
Heat rushed to my cheek. Justin laughed and patted the spot next to him. "Remembering that night, huh?"
"Yeah..." I say sitting next to him. "Everything has changed a lot since then."
"I'm guessing it has," he said, nodding. "You look the same though," he murmured, looking at me from the corner of his eye. "Still beautiful."
"Thanks." I bite my lip. Two years ago... he was my first kiss, my first not innocent dance.
Justin looked at me and bit his lip. "Two whole years," he said quietly.
"Yeah, went by so fast."
"Haven't spoken to you in that long," he said almost inaudibly, looking down.
"I know, I don't remember too much other than the party..."
His lips pulled into a small smirk. "That was a good night." I nod, agreeing. "So," he said, his eyes flicking between mine. "How long are you here for?"
"I'm not sure, awhile though."
He nodded and smiled. "We should hang out. I had fun with you that night."
"We should, but I'm going through a bit of a rough patch and, well yeah."
"I'm sure I can make you forget about the person you're thinking of," he told me, shrugging. "We can find something to do that's fun."
"I'd like that." I smile softly.
With a grin, he pulled me into a hug. "Yeah, hugging you feels the same," he said quietly, smiling against my shoulder before pulling away.
I smile a little more. "I know." He bit his lip and looked away. "What is it?" I ask him.
"Nothing," he shrugged. "Just thinking about that night and what happened..."
"Oh... yeah..."
Turning in his seat to lean one arm against the bench, he raised his eyebrow. "You seemed very... innocent that night," he commented then smirked.
"Uh....yeah, I guess I was." I felt heat rush to my cheeks. "Well, I wasn't at the end of the night," I said, looking away.
"Yeah... you know I never got the chance to ask, but were you okay with that?"
I smiled at him even though my cheeks refused to return to normal colour. "Yeah. I was okay with it."
"Okay good." He held my gaze for a moment before looking away and cleared his throat. "It was a good night," he said quietly. "But then I never heard from you again."
