It's the weekend, yes, but seeing as it's still a busy time of the year and the weather had just gone sour, there's less people than I expected. . . just the way I wanted it.
Noise was barely a problem as you listen to the waves hitting the shore and the calming breeze that howls along. I take in almost every single detail I can because I want this permanent and to stand out from my memories.
Behind me are the resorts and shades from the sun, with the tiny huts and people sun bathing. . . the greens are still visible and almost looks like a tiny forest. Behind those, is the part that had been built with human hands while in front of me, is something that looks almost completely untouched by humans.
The sea itself is a beautiful shade of cerulean blue with just enough green hue to balance the waters. The sand is almost golden, in fact, I believe it'll be if it hadn't been too cloudy. Overall, it's still much more beautiful than I expected.
I've never seen the sea that much, especially from this angle from the shore and everything about it just excites me.
I walk around the shore for a moment, keeping distance from where the waves hit because I know if I get even a single part of me wet, Runner would ask about it. . . in fact I might not believe that he's quietly lying down right now.
Pursing my lips and thinking of the fact that wind is very soothing like this, I take my ponytail off as I walk, but brushing it to the other side.
It's nice like this. . . there's no one telling you what you should and shouldn't do, no one to judge you whatever you do. I can stay like this forever, honestly.
"You know, I thought the Tenerife was the most beautiful thing I'll see all day."
Maybe I was too preoccupied by looking at the sea that I didn't even see Harry come along. I would've seen him, I would have noticed that kind of look from him because he's pulling it off in a rather charismatic way. A simple white shirt with a thin, open, checkered blue three-fourths sweater and jeans, and yet, he looks really amazing. . . in fact he fits the scenery. The white, as bubbles of the waves, the blue from his clothes and the green from his eyes in resemblance to the color of the sea.
"Least until I saw you," he says with a charming smile.
These kinds of situation easily reminds me of how often we meet in this place when I don't even know why we're at the same place at the same time. . . places are always crowded and there could be a lot of people that looks like me, or him, yet somehow, I love the fact that I can easily recognize him within range.
I still smile because of his compliment, "I could almost say the same. What brings you here?"
"The Teide volcano is quite near here. What about you? What brought you here?" He asks, still walking towards me. He stops and kicks the sand a little, a few sprinkles hitting my legs. "It's a long three-hour flight, more or less. Why come here?"
"I uh — I'm not tired and I wanted to see this place. Least before we come back to America." I answer. I remember last night that I said I'll come here, wherein Harry did say he'll go to the volcano. "D-Did you really come here without knowledge that I'll be here?"
He licks his lips as it slowly pull upward to a pleased smile. "I'd be lying if I said, no." Then he sighs, "I did know you'll be here but I wasn't counting on finding you. I've been walking around for some time now. It's a beautiful place. It's an entire island. I did not expect to see you, really."
I know it is and it's a waste to just take in the moment without actually doing something with it. Gladly, I remember something from last night.
"Whilst we're here," I say, repeating his tone from last night, "Take a walk with me?"
