Summary: You ask Betty out on a date
To the outside world Betty Cooper had always seemed the poster child for the classic girl next door.
You had been crushing on Betty for years but you knew she liked Archie and figured she didn't even like girls.
As the new school year started you and her had been getting closer after becoming lab partners in biology.
It had seemed like she was getting over Archie and maybe she even flirted with a few times.
You decided it was now or never.
You were going to ask Betty out on a date and if she said no well, you'd cross that bridge when you got there.
She had been spending a lot of time in the old media room so that was the first place you went looking for her.
You were hoping she would be alone but Jughead was with her working on a new issue of the blue and gold when you walked in.
"Hey Y/N what's up," she greeted you.
"Oh I just wanted to ask you something but I can come back later," you told her intimidated that someone else was watching you.
"Is it about bio? Do you want to meet up later and talk about it?"
"Actually," you took a deep breath trying to find the confidence to just say it, "do you want to go to Pop's with me sometime? Like a date maybe?"
You could see in the corner of your eye that Jughead had been taken aback by the invitation but Betty only smiled.
"Yeah, I'd really like Y/N," she told you.
"Really? Great, I'll uh text you later then," you said as relief hit you.
"It's a date then, I'll see you later."
"It's a date," you said backing up and turning to leave.
When you shut the door behind you, you took a second to catch your breath.
You had a date with Betty Cooper.
