NOTE- This chapter will ONLY focus on Toad and Luigi.
Toad was suddenly in the lead, and threw a banana behind him. Luigi, however, slipped on it.
"No!!!!" Toad screamed as the two pros passed by Luigi.
"Argh!!" Luigi got back up and raced. This was very close. They were near the finish line for the second lap. Toad found a mushroom and tossed it to Luigi, who used it to get ahead.
Just their luck, the two pros got 3 bananas each and Toad and Luigi slipped and slipped. After lap 2, here were the scores:
1. Pro
2. Toad
3. Pro
4. Luigi
Luigi was definitely not giving up. He got a super star and blasted by the two professionals. Toad then threw another banana back, careful not to hit Luigi.
Luigi got a red shell. However Toad was behind him.
"TOAD!" He yelled, showing the red shell. Toad thought for a sec and had an idea. Toad backed up till he was behind Luigi, then Luigi threw the red shell forward. It quickly hit a pro, allowing both competitors to pass him.
The pro got a Bullet Bill, but he was way too far behind. His car started to break down and he crashed into a fence. His wheels fell off. He was done!
Luigi and Toad just had one pro to beat.
The pro got 3 red shells and threw them behind him. Toad and Luigi were far behind now, but Toad got a bullet Bill. He was quickly in the lead, and got a super star. Surprised, he threw it behind him for Luigi to catch, but the Pro intercepted and caught it himself! He started to laugh, as Toad raged.
The pro used the super star, but as it ran out he saw a bullet Bill behind him. It was Luigi!
At the last second, the pro ran into a fence right before the finish line! Here were the final standings:
1. Toad
2. Luigi
3. Pro
4. Pro
Lakitu awaited them at the finish line.
"Congrats, guys. You have just earned 50,000 coins!"
"WOOHOO!" Toad screamed.
"Yeah..." Luigi muttered.
"Um... are you ok?"
"Oh, nothing. I'm just tired..." Luigi sounded like he was lying.
(!) "Could Luigi be the Mole, or is he lying? He was doing bad at the race, but maybe at the last second he realized he needed the win to stay unsuspicious. But he might be lying. I'll keep my eyes peeled..." Toad said mysteriously.
