*Asher's POV*
"Your nose sure does look messed up, kid." My dad said as he was examining my nose the next day. He was a doctor, specifically a surgeon. He stopped working ever since my mom passed away but recently started working again about a month ago once he realized that crying and being upset wasn't going to pay the bills around here.

"That's what I said, I didn't realize it was this bad." I shrugged.

"What even happened to it?" My identical twin brother, Aiden, questioned the second he walked into the room.

"Jacob was getting into a fight with my other friend, Dylan, and I tried to break it up and this dumb ass accidentally elbowed me in the face." I explained. Aiden and Dad both started laughing as they shook their heads.

"It looks like you have to get your nose fixed, it could be fractured with all that bruising and swelling that is happening."

"If your mom was still here with us, she would be really surprised that you tried to actually break up a fight. We'd all expect Aiden to be that person." He chuckled but knowing dad, he was still hurting. Like the both of us.

I was deep asleep in my bed when I heard the door open, making me wake up a bit. I didn't move though because the pain was unbearable. It's funny because yesterday when I got hit, I didn't feel any pain that made me think I broke my nose or anything but dad straightened it and put a splint on it which made it hurt like a bitch.

"Yeah, he's actually asleep right now. I don't want to wake him up because he's in pain right now... Oh yeah, it's nothing.. Oh no, don't
worry... I promise he's fine... Sure, I will.." I heard part of Aiden's phone conversation since he was just standing at my bedroom door.

"Ughhh," I groaned softly before turning around on my back and facing Aiden. "I'm awake, if you're talking about me."

"Oh wait, don't hang up, he actually just woke up right now, lemme ask him." Aiden spoke into the phone before putting his phone behind him as he started talking to me. "Mike's wondering if we wanna go hang out with them at DQ. They're gonna get some ice cream. I told him that you're in pa-"

"Nah, let's go." I interrupted him before getting up. "Anything for ice cream."

Aiden and I both laughed at what I said before Aiden finished the phone call and hung up. I hopped out of my bed, almost immediately feeling better. No one on this earth understands my obsession with ice cream.

After a couple of minutes of me and Aiden walking over to Mike's, we finally got there. We rang the bell and waited patiently for someone to open the door but it didn't take long as Mike's mom opened almost immediately.

"Aiden! Asher! How are you both? Mike and the rest were just waiting for you, they're in the livingroom." Elizabeth, who was Mike's mom, greeted us and invited us inside their homes.

"We're great, thanks." Aiden smiled as we both walked in.

*Alex's POV*
It was only Mike, Logan, Jacob, and I that were in Mike's living room, talking about random stuff while we waited for Asher to arrive when we heard Mike's mom talking in the entrance.

"How are you guys really doing? I hope you're all being strong and getting through. I hope your dad is okay as well." I overheard Mike's mom say.
