Chapter 6: Asking Questions; The Unexpected Attack

[Rob's POV]

It was Tuesday- the next day- and I was sitting in my desk chair, about to record with Preston.

"You ready Robby?" Preston asks me. I nod.

"As ready as I'll ever be, Purrrrrston.~" I purr slightly, rolling the "r".

"Alright, start your intro in three, two, one!-"

"Hey, what's going on its Woofless here with Preston!...."

~{Time Skip}~

"So thank you all for watching, and we'll see you next time!" Preston says, doing the outro.

I laugh. "Best. Money Wars. Episode. Ever!"

Preston nods. "It was so much fun to record with you Robby!" He says, laughing that adorable laugh of his.

"I am so much in love with him..." I think to myself, blushing slightly.

"So, what do you want to do now?" Preston asks. Suddenly, I get a text on my phone.

"One sec." I glance at my phone, seeing a text from Jerome.

Fluffy: Guess what time It is!~

I quickly text him back.

Flower King: I hate this.

Fluffy: Sorry bud... were you busy?

Flower King: Just finished recording with Preston. Was hoping to hang out with him when SOMEBODY decided to be a jag.

Fluffy: Sorry Rob, but duty calls for us. Same meeting spot as always?

Flower King: You know it.

I look at Preston on the screen. "Sorry, but I have something important I need to take care of right now. Maybe later?"

Preston nods. "I understand. Can you at least tell me what you're doing?"

I shake my head no. "No, it's some family stuff. I don't really feel like sharing it with anyone."

"Oh okay. Well, I hope that whatever came up with your family goes away!" Preston says.

"Oh... If only it were that easy..." I thought, saying goodbye to Preston and leaving the Skype call.

I quickly headed out of my house and into the forest, shifting into my wolf form.

~{Time Skip}~

I pad over to the tree me and Jerome usually meet at, still in my wolf form. I bow my head in respect as I look at the stone that served as my mother's gravestone. Hearing pawsteps behind me, I continue looking at my mother's gravestone, knowing that it's Jerome.

"You want to hear something your mom said to me before she got attacked the night she died?" Jerome asks me in wolftounge. I nod.

"She told me: 'Protect my little Flower for me. One day he'll be his own king, ruling over his own Kingdom. He's special, unlike any other wolf pup. Watch over him when I cannot.'"

I stayed silent at his words for a moment, letting the words sink into my mind. Finally, I find the courage to say something. "S-She really said that?..."

Jerome nods. "She did. I've stayed true to her words, and stayed by your side ever since. I'm not doing it only because she said so, but because I care for you as a best friend." He nuzzled me softly with his muzzle in a friendly and comforting way. "Your mom really cared for you, Rob. She was an amazing lady." He adds.

I nod. "I still miss her... that b*stard will pay for what he did..."

"Rob, I understand you want to avenge your mom, but...."

"He deserves it Jerome. He needs to pay for his actions." I growl.

Jerome sighs, nuzzling me with his muzzle to calm me down. It worked, and I nuzzle him back as a "thank you".

"I'm sorry... I wasn't thinking rationally there... thanks for calming me down." I bark. Jerome nods, giving me a toothy grin.

"No prob, Rob." Jerome barks. "We should get back to our territory now." I nod, and we head to our territory.

Kenny greets us when we get to our territory, as well as Choco, who was sitting in a tree behind Kenny. "Hey guys!" Kenny barks in greeting.

Choco waves. "Hi." Kenny leads us over to the tree Choco was sitting in.

"So, any news?" I ask the two.

Choco shakes his head no. "No news on Silver's pack at the moment. Kenny?" Choco turns to look at Kenny a slightly visible blush on his face. I see Jerome smirk slightly, both of us knowing that he was head over heels for him.

"There is news in our pack, however. Rose suspects that Cloud will be having pups soon. Also, a group of wolves lead by Forest were just sent hunting for food." Kenny says.

Jerome smiles. "That's good. Can we visit Cloud?"

Kenny nods. "Follow me then." Jerome and I follow Kenny into one of the dens. The den is large, with a few makeshift beds made of leaves and vines. One of the beds has a sand colored wolf with greyish-white highlights laying on it with one blue eye and one green eye. Standing next to them is a small snow white wolf with greyish-blue eyes. The pure white wolf turns to look at us.

"Hello there Alpha and friends." She greets us, bowing her head a bit out of respect.

"Hey Rose, how's Cloud?" I ask.

"She's good, currently asleep." Rose says, looking at Cloud, who is asleep, laying on the makeshift bed in front of Rose.

A black wolf with pale blue eyes walks into the nursery den. Me and Jerome turn to him.

"Hey Adrian." I greet him. The blind wolf turns towards me.

"Ah, Alpha, is that you?" He asks.

"I'm here too you know." Jerome jokes.

"Ah, hello there to you as well, Jerome." Adrian turns towards Cloud. He pads over to her, nuzzling her softly as to not disturb her slumber.

I nudge Jerome with my nose. "Let's leave Adrian alone with his mate." Jerome and I leave the nursery den.

Jerome turns to me. "So, what should we do now, Alpha?" He smirks at me.

I laugh, rolling my eyes at him in a joking manner.

"Well, we can-" I get cut off as Choco lands in front of me. Startled, I step back a bit.

"Choco! You scared me!..."

"Sorry Rob! Its urgent though." Choco says to me.

"Urgent? What is it Choco?" Jerome asks.

"I saw Silver's pack heading this way right now!"

Wooooah! Drama, am I right? Also yay for the introduction of some of my OCs (but in wolf forms because why not)

Anyways yeah! Thanks for all the support you guys have given me on this book! Also sorry this chapter took SOOO long to get out, I had to research what Rob and Preston's intros/outros were XD (also rip me if anyone saw me accidently publish this chapter before)
