제 30 장: Long Awaited

"Uh, hi?"

Kris said through the awkwardness.

Baekhyun gave him an unsatisfied look. "'Uh, hi?' Really?"

"Yeah, really." Kris said then scoffed and shot back a glare.

A few moments of silence and the intense staring contest between D.O and Haneul was what made the room completely dead.

Chanyeol took the opportunity and coughed to try and get on the EXO members to do something about it. He could speak for everyone that it was completely awkward and no one wants to be stuck in an awkward situation for a long time.

Fortunately, Chanyeol's cough was able to break Suho's trance.

"oH NO!" Suho yelled out loud with a voice crack. It was almost like Suho was trying to make it even more awkward.

With everyone's eyes on Suho, he had felt a sense of accomplishment since it's not easy to get their attention, especially when coming from him.

"KAI'S EATING ALL OF XIUMIN'S BAOZIS!" He yelled once again.

Kai made a face of confusion and look at Suho dead in the eye. "B-But I'm right beside you, hyu-"

"Come on guys! Let's get to the kitchen!"

It took a few seconds to get what Suho was trying to get at, but the eldest nodded in agreement which led to the others, except D.O and Haneul of course, nodding as well.

Right before Kai left the room, a small murmur left his mouth, "I swear to god, these days Suho is just getting weirder and weirder."

Once everyone had left the room, Haneul tried to force a smile. She sat next to D.O at a comfortable distance.

"How have you been?" She asked with her fake smile growing even bigger. She couldn't have thought of a better time then tell D.O that she was leaving soon.

"I've been doing well..." He said with a small smile, relieved to hear the sound of Hanuel's soothing voice. Just the thought of it, his smile began to grow wider, yet it was sincere. "I've been through a lot this past month."

"It's already been a month?" Haneul asked in surprise.

"I can't believe it either. I've been shutting myself away for a month straight." He said in disappointment.

"You shouldn't blame yourself. You made things right, right?" She asked him once again. Secretly referring to Yeon Ah trying to get him back.

"Almost."

"Sehun and Chanyeol have been telling me about what happened."

"Ah, I see. Those snakes..."

She chuckled at D.O's words. "Snakes, huh?"

"Yeah, snakes. They told you without my permission." Haneul felt bad from his words. Did he not want to tell her at all?

"I wanted to tell you myself." Haneul smiled.

"... How about you? How have you been? I haven't heard from you in a while."

Haneul's one sincere smile dropped.

'Now's the time!' She encouraged in her mind.

"I-I'm..." She began, looking at his sincere smile.

"I'm leaving." With the words finally out, her shoulders dropped. She didn't know they were tense in the first place and that she was also holding her breath.
