Dreams We Never Had [Extended Ending] - Jean X Reader X Eren [Modern AU]

I guess this is a kind of extended alternative ending to this one-shot. I did my best, although I am definitely not the best at writing violence or lime style scenes, so please forgive me for that. This one-shot ended up being really long, but I hope it's okay.

You stood in the en-suite bathroom of the hotel room, staring at your reflection in the mirror thoughtfully. You weren't being vain - you were more staring into space than at yourself, exactly. But you were troubled by the sudden appearance of your ex-lover earlier that day. You hadn't seen Jean for so long, and yet he had turned up out of the blue to see you in a wedding dress, foolishly in the hope that you still loved him. But you had smothered your feelings for Jean a long time ago, though, and there was no getting them back; your feelings of romantic love now belonged solely to your new husband, Eren. Jean shouldn't have expected you to love him any more, unless he was crazy - and maybe he had known really, that finding you wasn't ever going to end exactly how he wanted it to.

You still weren't sure, however, if you believed that he actually did still love you. If he truly had loved you all this time, he wouldn't have ignored your attempts to contact him. If he loved you, he wouldn't have hurt you the way he did.

"(F/N)? Are you okay in there?" Eren knocked on the door of the bathroom.

You glanced away from the mirror. "What? Oh, yes, I'm fine. Just give me a moment, and I'll be out," you answered.

You sighed, turning back to the mirror and frowning at yourself. You were still wearing your wedding dress - although you had kicked off your high-heeled shoes upon entering the hotel room - and part of you didn't want to ever take it off because it was so beautiful. And technically, you wouldn't even be taking it off tonight at all - Eren would be the on taking it off you. After all, this was your wedding night, and you knew what was supposed to happen tonight - in just a few moments, in fact. You and Eren had enjoyed a wonderful dinner at your wedding reception, despite the stress you'd been feeling about Jean, and now the guests had gone home or to hotels while you and Eren had retreated to a fancy hotel room to spend your wedding night together. He was waiting for you, just outside of the bathroom door, probably sitting on the luxurious queen-size bed.

You weren't entirely sure why you were so nervous to spend this night with Eren; it wasn't like you had never slept with him in that sense before. But maybe because people's wedding nights were, from what you had heard, supposed to be fancy and romantic and amazing. It was like you needed to make a whole lot more effort for it, and you weren't certain what you were meant to do. Was it going to be just like the other times you'd had sex with him before, or would Eren be expecting more from you tonight?

You took several deep breaths, and then opened the door, stepping out of the bathroom and onto the soft, cream carpet of the bedroom. Eren was standing on the left side of the bed, and he smiled at you as you closed the bathroom door behind you. He was still wearing the shirt and trousers from his suit, though he had taken off the jacket and tie, leaving them hung on a peg beside the door. He came to stand in front of you, reaching out and taking your hand, lacing his fingers with yours. "You sure you're all right?" he checked.

You nodded. "Just a little tired after today," you replied. "Not that I mean it was exhausting or boring," you added hastily. "It was wonderful...truly wonderful. One of the best days of my whole life."

"It's not over yet," Eren chuckled. "Well, I mean, it's up to you. Are you sure you want to?"

You knew what he was talking about. "Yes," you said. "Yes, I'm sure. I just...don't know if you expect more from me tonight than usual."
