        You hurried along the corridor of the school, your books clutched tightly against your chest. Your shoulder bag bumped against your hip as you walked, and you kept your head down, hiding your face behind your (h/c) hair. You were never normally late to class, but you always hurried anyway, just to be on the safe side.

        All of a sudden you were on the floor, your books scattered and bits of paper falling out of them. You looked up, feeling your face go red when you saw Jean Kirschtein standing over you. Jean was one of the popular boys at school - he always hung out with Eren and Mikasa and that group - and you must have crashed into him by mistake. Just your luck.

        "Hey, watch where you're going!" Jean snapped, glaring at you.

        You mumbled an apology, instead gathering up your books and papers and getting to your feet. You tried to walk past him, but his hand came down on your shoulder, spinning you around. "Hey. I was talking to you."

        "I know, I said I'm sorry," you said quietly.

        "Well maybe you should watch what you're doing next time," he said, annoyed.

        "Jean, leave her alone," another voice spoke up. You glanced up in surprise to see Eren Jaeger - possibly the most popular boy in school - standing a little way away, with Mikasa and Armin next to him.

        "She walked into me!" Jean protested.

        "It was an accident. Stop bothering her," Eren replied.

        Jean narrowed his eyes and glared at you one last time before stalking off. Eren glanced at you, his teal eyes meeting yours, and you gave him a small smile before hurrying away to your next lesson.

        It wasn't until two days later when Eren sought you out. He was leaning against the wall opposite your classroom door when you walked out of class at the end of the day, and he smiled when he saw you. You, however, assumed he was waiting for someone else - Armin, maybe, since he was in your class - and you carried on walking right past him.

        You nearly jumped out of your skin when you felt a light touch on your shoulder as you exited the building and headed for the school gates. Looking around, you saw that Eren was walking beside you. "Hey," he said, smiling at you. "You didn't wait for me."

        "I...what?" you asked, staring at him.

        "I waited for you to come out of your class, but you just walked right past me," Eren said, looking amused.

        "Um, Armin's over there," you said, pointing to where Armin was heading out of school with Mikasa.

        "I know. I wasn't waiting for him - I was waiting for you, (F/N)."

        You stared at him. "You know my name? And why were you waiting for me?"

        "Of course I know your name - I know the names of everyone in our year," he laughed. "And I wanted to talk to you. I'm sorry about Jean being an asshole to you the other day."

        "Oh, uh...that's all right," you said. "He wasn't really being mean - I did crash into him."

        "Yeah, but he thinks because he's popular he can pick on anyone he likes. I just wanted to let you know we're not all like that. I...I'd actually kind of like to get to know you better, (F/N). I was wondering if we could hang out sometime." He paused, pulling a piece of paper out from his pocket. "Here. You don't have to decide now, but if you do want to hang out just give me a call or something and we can meet up." He grinned. "I'd better catch up with Armin and Mikasa. See you around." He was hurrying away before you could respond.
