Saviour - Knight! Levi X Princess! Reader [AU]

This was a bit of a weird one in terms of the setting, I guess...I'm not entirely sure why I wrote this, but oh well. Enjoy.

Your name was (F/N) (L/N), seventh heir to the royal throne and a respectable lady of the realm. You were referred to as 'lady' or 'princess' when spoken to by others beneath your status, and only your family were allowed to call you by your name. Your mother had died several years ago, and you lived with your father, two brothers and four sisters in a large stone castle that had been owned by your family for centuries. You were the youngest in the family, and therefore you would only inherit the throne if every other member of your family were to die, which was unlikely to happen. You didn't mind at all - you had never been interested in ruling, and you were happy with the life you had.

You leaned out of the window of your bedroom, which was about halfway up one of the castle's towers, watching a bird of prey glide gracefully through the air, barely needing to flap its wings to stay airborne. Casting your gaze lower, you spotted a deer at the edge of the forest near the castle, and saw a rabbit hop through the meadow between the castle and the forest. You had always loved animals, and although your father refused to tolerate any animals inside the castle, you were content to watch them from your window or trek into the forest to find them.

A knock on your door brought you away from the window, and you opened the door to see one of the maids of the castle, Petra, standing in the doorway. "Princess, I thought you might be interested to know that the knights are back," Petra said, smiling at you. "Sir Levi is with them, if you wanted to know," she added with a grin.

You nudged her. "Shut up!" you cried, a blush appearing on your cheeks. You and Petra had always had a close bond, and she knew that you had a place in your heart for a certain knight by the name of Levi Ackerman. You were good friends with him, but you wished the two of you could be more than that.

You rushed downstairs, followed by Petra, until you reached the ground floor. Running along the corridor, you threw open the double doors at the front of the castle and stepped outside. Two of your sisters, Ymir and Krista, were already there, and they turned to look at you as your burst out through the doors.

Krista smiled. "Are you here to watch the knights too?" she asked as you came to stand beside her and Ymir.

"(F/N)'s just interested in watching one knight," Ymir teased.

You felt your face heat up. "I...I'm not! I'm here to watch all of them!" you cried indignantly.

Krista rolled her eyes. "Sure, (F/N)."

You stared at her. "Not you, too! I wouldn't have expected you to believe this sort of nonsense, Krista."

"But she knows it's true," Ymir replied. "As do I. Come on, (F/N), just admit it - and not just to us, but to him as well."

Your mouth gaped open. "What? No! I can't tell him!"

"So you do like him?" Ymir looked smugly at you.

"No! I mean, well, yes - yes, I do. But I can't tell him."

Krista raised her eyebrows. "Why not? I'm sure he likes you back, (F/N). I've seen the way he stares at you." When you shook your head, she pressed, "Is it because of our father? You think he wouldn't approve of it?"

"It's not a matter of thinking he wouldn't - I know he would never approve. He always goes on about how he wants each of us to marry someone worthy. Someone wealthy and important, like the son of a highly-ranked nobleman or something."
