Davaseal

A drop of blood hits the ground. Lucinda is soaked in blood again. Part hers, most of it from her enemies.

It's not like I'm stalking her. She teleported to HQ and was walking fast toward the communal showers. I watch as a few kids see her and wave, despite the unsettling amount of blood on her. Even though I'm never on Earth, if a human seen her they would freak. Not only at the blood, but at the fact that one of their own was, well Lucinda. I think to myself.

I reach into my pocket and grasp a box. I always keep this box on me, when I don't it's kept in a safe where I have enough life enchantments that not even Luna could break into without killing her.

"Why don't you tell her, Davaseal? I mean, come on." Comes a chilling voice about two feet behind me.

I glance behind me, now fully alert. "How or when did you get behind me?" I say turning around and looking Luna right in the eyes.

"Don't change the subject." She says moving away from me and leaning against a tree. "Davaseal the suspense is killing me here." She says nonchalantly.

I glance at her and lean against a different tree. "Lucinda doesn't know..." I trail off knowing I have more then one secret that I have kept from her.

"About her past? Or about your past?" She says flatly.

I freeze but don't let any emotion to my face. I know Luna, and I know she is fishing right now because she doesn't know my secret either. "Tell me." I say slowly, carefully. "What is it that you think I should tell her?"

"That you care about her beyond your partnership and have for a while." She says flatly. "We all see it, well she doesn't but Lucinda is an idiot when it comes to someone hitting on her but that's besides the point." She says waving her hand.

"Luna, I might care for her but Lucinda hasn't forgiven me for the past, and she won't when she remembers what was sealed." I say softly.

"You're hiding something else." She says looking down at my pocket where I keep the box. "Something in a small box that has an enchantment on it to be hard to notice. And it has a depth spell. Not to mention that death spell." She says poking for answers.

My hand had been in my pocket the whole time, I let go of the box. I look her in the eye and can feel my power surging forward. "Do not-"

"Easy killer!" She says laughing at me. "I'm not asking about it broski. I'm asking why do you fear Lucy learning about it." She says tilting her head to the side and a wave of hair covers half of her face.

I calm my nerves and look away. "It's just another reason for her to hate and reject me." I mumble and look up. "Not that she doesn't have enough reasons but-" I pause realizing she was looking at me with kind eyes.

Suddenly we hear Lucy laughing in the distance. "You were so harsh on her when she was little. So much so, she feared you more then she feared me and I ripped her to pieces." Luna said, testing open that old wound that would never heal. "I remember when you used to visit during her trainings that she would just cry, and not stop for hours." She said sadly.

"I used to abuse her with wind magic and other spells because she was learning wind magic. Said that she had to take the hits to be able to use it." I say feeling waves of regret. "I would steal every ounce of oxygen from her lungs and body, suffocate her, and change the temperature around her. That was before the slicing her and dicing." I mumble remembering it all.

I glance up and notice Luna's eyes were wide. "Why did you want her to become Shashenia anyway? Now that I think about it, you were the harshest on her. Was it because of your uncle? Or maybe because-"

I cut her off. "Lucinda was a weak and pathic child, yes. But we stole her innocence and her life from her with what we did. I have no good reasons for what I put that poor girl through and I will spend every day of my life trying to right that wrong." I say glancing away. "We stole her smile and laughter." I trail off in a mumble and look away from Luna.

"There is more to your story that you want to keep hidden. I get that. Just do us all a favor." She says walking over to me and pulling my face to face her. "Tell her before she finds out because she will one day. And once she finds out, it's going to explode if you don't tell her." She says letting me go and walking away. The moment she is out of sight, my hand goes right back into my pocket. It will explode no matter what I do but with me not telling her now, maybe one day I can tell her our truth."
