During the road trip to visit Abigail and Henry Wilson (Delilah's grandparents), Delilah saw tons of Yo-Kai. She tried to tell her parents, but her dad didn't see them, and her mom was too busy driving to look at them. Once they'd finally arrived, Abigail embraced Delilah and said, "Oh, my precious sweetie-boo!"
"Hi, Grandma! Hi, Grandpa!" Delilah greeted.
"Everyone, come with us!" Henry said.
They went into the dining room, where there was a purple-frosted birthday cake that was decorated with yellow and blue star and moon sprinkles and the words "Happy Birthday" written in yellow frosting. It was also impaled by glowing purple and yellow birthday candles. After the candles were lit, they all sang the "Happy Birthday" song, and Delilah blew out the candles. They all ate it, and it was delicious. After that, Henry turned to Delilah and said, "Come with me, sweetie."
He took her to his bedroom, pulled out a brown and red book, and dusted it off with his scarf. He showed it to Delilah and said, "This is 'Spirit Sorcery.' It was written by your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather many years ago. It is yours now."
"Thanks, Grandpa. Did Mom have it when she was my age?" Delilah asked.
"Well, no," Henry responded, "she wasn't really that interested in practicing magic."
"Magic?"
"Oh, yes. The necklace's magic isn't just limited to allowing the wearer to see Yo-Kai."
"Yo-Kai? What are those?"
"They are invisible spirit-like entities that are responsible for life's daily bizarre phenomenons. They're everywhere."
"On our way here, I saw tons of strange-looking creatures. I tried to show them to Dad, but he didn't see any of them. Were they Yo-Kai?"
"Were they causing strange behavior in humans?"
"Yeah. One of them made a guy lift an entire iron girder that had three smaller girders on it with one finger!"
"Yep, that was a Yo-Kai. Oh, that reminds me. It's time for your test. I'll be right back. In the meantime, look at the Basic Spells part of the book."
Henry went into the kitchen and got a red apple from the fruit bowl. Then he went back to Delilah, placed the apple on a table, and explained, "This is a test to see if you're capable of wielding magic. All you have to do is perform some basic spells on this apple."
Delilah looked at the apple and said, "Color Changers- Green Apple!" With that, a green wisp formed around the necklace, surrounded the apple, and popped, turning the apple green. Then she said, "Aromatic Enhancers- Apple!" which made the apple smell like ten apples. After that, there were levitation spells, transforming spells, one spell after another. Finally, with the apple back to normal, she said, "Flying Fruit- Aviating Apple!" and guided the apple into her grandpa's hands. "What's next?"
Henry looked at his granddaughter and replied, "I've seen everything I need to see."
"How'd I do?"
"You passed. You see, inheriting the Spirit Sorcery book requires the DNA of the family, an intelligent mind, and a kind heart. You possess all of these qualities."
Henry and Delilah hugged, and Delilah headed home with her parents... but not before a hug from Abigail.
