"Is this necessary?" I don't feel like it is?

This morning I was woken up by mother telling me that professional makeup artist have come over to do my makeup for Julian's movie premiere. He has a couple of his songs being featured in the movie. What I don't understand is why they have to come over to the house to do my makeup? It's not like I can't do my own makeup. That's why the chose me isn't it? I can do it all by myself.

The man working on my couture doesn't stop what he is doing to speak to me. "Yes it is necessary. You have to look spectacular for your first event. This is the first time you will be representing the company at an event where thousands and maybe even millions will see your face. After this you will be able to do your own style little girl. Let us finish so we can move on to our next client." He starts to blend it in as the lady doing my eyeshadow moves out of his way.

"I can live with that."

Once they finish they stand back to admire there handy work. "You are looking fierce." The guy snaps his hands in the air making all of us laugh.

Standing up I look at myself in the bathroom mirror and I honestly can't believe that it is me that I am seeing in the mirror. I have never had my makeup done this amazing. My cheek bones look more defined, my face brighter, and my eyes just seem to pop. "You all are really good at your job."

"We know." They all laugh as I move in to hug them. "Honey no." The guy pushes me back. "You are not going to ruin our masterpiece." That's how we ended up doing air hugs with everyone.

I tell them goodbye as they pack up so that I can go get dressed. They leave my moms bathroom as I head towards my room to put the dress on lended to me by some designer brand. I don't even know the company's name. Once I slipped the dress on I leave my hair in my natural messy beach waves since this isn't a very formal movie premiere. We are even taking Oliver with us since the movie is rated PG. From what I have seen of the movie it is supposed to be a fun kids movie for all ages.

Once the dress is on I realize just how short it is. This seems more like lingerie than a dress. The bottom stops just below my butt. Maybe this is a shirt instead, there is no way they would give me a dress like this for a children's premier. Shuffling around I put on a pair of black shorts that you can barely even see. I think this will have to do.

Grabbing my phone I make my way down the stairs to see Julian with Oliver standing at the door both of them looking at Julian's phone. Oliver is the first to see me and he immediately reaches out to me. He looks so cute in his toddler jeans and his little blue dress shirt.

Julian only sees me after I reach for Oliver taking him out of his arms. Oliver immediately starts playing with my hair. That's at least one think Oliver and Jamie have in common. They both love my hair. "Are they not ready yet?"

"No, but we have to leave soon." Julian's eyes seem to finally notice my clothing as he seems to take a step back. "What are you wearing?" He asks. "Where are the rest of your clothes?" Here comes over protective Julian. "You're practically naked."

"I put on shorts underneath." Oliver babbles as he twirls my hair around and turns to look at his dad.

That doesn't seem to satisfy him because he shakes his head at me. "When your mother told me she was getting you a dress I thought it would at least come close to your knees. I don't approve of this at all Winter." Well its a good thing I wasn't asking for his approval.
