Alex
That morning, I woke up in a twin sized bed, next to Cadence. Oh yeah, I thought.
I would definitely have to come up with something to tell my parents. They're probably worried sick about me.
Bing bong. The door bell rang.
"Who the hell is that?" I asked myself.
I got up softly so I wouldn't wake Cadence up. I first looked out the window and I noticed Cheyenne there.
I hurried down the stairs, slipping on almost every stair. I frantically opened the front door and Cheyenne jumped back, looking startled.
"What's going on?" She asked, looking inside the house.
"I was just-uh," I muttered.
She raised one eyebrow, waiting for an answer."I was waiting on a call or a text or....something." I said, stepping outside and closing the door behind me.
Now I was two inches away from her face. She stepped back.
"Uh, I told them that I'd be back later so, I guess you can leave."
I stepped even closer and stared her down. We were against the brick wall now.
"Look, I'm really not in the mood for your romance novel tactics." She scolded.
As I started to walk away, I realized:
"Who did you tell them you were staying with? Because there's no way the social workers are going to leave you alone with Cadence."
This was my one chance to stay with her and actually have an excuse.
"Don't worry about it. I've got it taken care of." She said.
"You need me and you know it," I smiled.
"Leave. Me. The Hell. ALONE."
"Cheyenne-" I begged.
"GO!" She yelled, slamming the front door.
Now I just had to figure out how to persuade her to let me stay.
