It is 1:00 pm and it appears that things are going smoothly. I was able to ease my way out of the courtyard easily.
I'm so thankful that Cheyenne called Cadence's kindergarten teacher and told her that I was picking him up. She's so smart.
As I was dropping off Cadence, I realized that my brother had a brand new Corvette. Cameron was standing right next to his car when I pulled in next to him.
"What up, brah!" Cameron yelled.
"I see you've got a new whip. Look, here's the house key and make sure you call me if anything bad happens." I said, tossing him the keys.
Cameron's cheerful look disappeared and replaced a brooding stare in it's place.
"Hey, uh, Alex?" He asked.
"Yes?"
"Do you know what mom and dad would do to me if they found out that I was helping you?"
"What would they do Cam?" I sighed.
"They would take everything. My car, my apartment, my cards. EVERYTHING. You better not screw this up for me." He said, firmly.
"I won't, just take care of Cadence until 4 o'clock and everything will be alright."
When we drove home from school that day, everything was set. Cheyenne's mother came home and our plan was in perfect motion.
The plan was for Cheyenne to sneak Cadence out and leave a note.
We had already packed up our things, so that it wouldn't be an issue. Now, it's time for a Road Trip.
