It's the day before we start school and I've noticed that Alex is acting quite strange. Once again, I feel like he's hiding something from me. Lately, he spends most of his time in the master bedroom.
Also, Rhett came over unexpectedly (to me, at least) to give him something and left, quick as lightning when I came into the room.
Alex just simply wouldn't tell me what it was, so I gave him an ultimatum.
*Flashback*
"Why do you need to know?" Alex asked.
"This is my house."
"But I'm the one taking care of Cadence and I'm the one buying us food." He exclaimed.
"And I appreciate that but let me put it this way, if you don't stop keeping secrets from me, you will be kicked out of my house... Indefinitely,"
He paused and shifted his weight, leaning on the counter.
"Fine, Rhett was giving me money for household stuff. My parents cut me off."
*Present*
Now that I look back on it, I feel really bad for calling him out. All he wanted to do was provide for the few days that he is here.
"Hey, Cheyenne?" Alex asked, poking his head in the door.
"Hmm?" I nodded.
"So, I just put Dence to bed, can I talk to you? Outside?"
"Uh sure." I replied.
I wonder what this is about. I thought, heading down the stairs.
