"How do you think we found your location?" Fong's face was pulled into a smirk. I felt my eyes burn with tears and my fists clenched.

"Y-you," I stuttered over my words out of anger as I glared at David.

"I di-didn't know they would do this," he cowered down.

"Shut the fuck up, David. You came just in time to see me shoot Delirious' little mistress straight in the head."

David's eyes widened with fear and confusion.

"This isn't what you said," his voice shook. Fong ignored him and started to advance towards me.

"I was thinking of sparing you. Too bad big strong Vera had to be stubborn. You're just wasting my time. I'll find Delirious myself."

"Any last words?" The barrel of his gun was shoved in front of my stomach.

I spat the blood from my mouth onto his shoes.

"See you in Hell, Fong."

As if rehearsed, the windows behind him shattered; the fragments of glass startling him.

Jonathon and a bearded man appeared holding AK-47s. Jonathon's blue eyes looked ferocious and were wild as they frantically darted around.

They finally met mine and calmed but were fired up again when he spotted his family.

"Luke, cover me." The bearded man, or Luke, nodded and began firing at the men surrounding them. Jonathon ran to me and skillfully used a knife to break apart the ropes.

"Here," he tossed me a gun as he sped off to save his family. I spun around and faced Fong who was calling for more backup.

I fired at him a couple of times, missing most of them. I managed to get a decent hit on his thigh to which he yelped in agony at.

"You're going to get what you deserve."

I proceeded to near him, ready to finish him off. Before I could reach him, more of his stooges surrounded me, and he smirked in victory before running off.

I cursed at myself and opened fire at the men around me. My shots were effective, killing almost half of them. Somewhere throughout the chaos, I ran out of ammo but there were still at least a dozen guards alive. I looked over to Jonathon who seemed to have the same problem. He began combatting the old-fashioned way.

"Guys, we have to go. Jonathon grab your sister and mom," I yelled at him and Luke to which they agreed to.

As we skidded up the stairs, I felt a light grasp on my wrist. David stared up at me desperately.

"Vera, I'm so sorry. All of this is my fault," his voice was regretful and his apology was genuine. The sound of ammunition being fired in the background was deafening.

"I got you into this problem, I'm going to get you out, okay? I'll hold them off long enough for you guys to get away."

Even if he had betrayed me, I knew deep down he wasn't a bad person. He hadn't meant for it to go this far. I knew the real David.
