Chapter 12

"You know, trust you to get stuck in a tree," Violet scoffed as she lay beside Bea in the hospital bed, patting her best friend's hair whilst Bea couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head at the excuse that she had made up.

Violet knew of her animagus, thinking that she did it just for fun.

"I can't help who I am," she scoffed, wincing when she moved her arm, "I can't believe Remus actually left, can you believe it?"

"I really can't," Violet shook her head, chucking as she done so, "you know, I know that you don't like the fact that I like him, Bea, and I can try to get over him because if anything came between us I don't think I'd be able to live with myself.

You are more important to me than any boy or any person and even if I do love Remus-"

"What did you just say?" Bea gasped, ignoring the pain as she sat up on her bed, turning to Violet with wide eyes, seeing Violet who looked completely confused for just a few moments until she realised what she had said, clasping a hand over her lips, and quickly, she shook her head furiously.

"No, no, no, no, tha-that just slipped out, Bea, it wasn't- it's not true, I swear, I don't - what?! I don't love Remus, that's insane it's just a crush, I promise!" Violet's head fell into her hands whilst Bea watched her speechless.

She had never seen Violet so flustered before, the girl just completely reminded her of herself whenever she embarrassed herself - particularly in front of James - it was rather amusing that the tables had turned and now Violet was the one to feel so embarrassed, mumbling to herself that she was so stupid, she felt so humiliated.

"Bea, I swear, I'm so, I'm so sorry I'm not in love with Remus, I don't love him at all, or love him or anything along those lines, maybe I do fancy him a bit, and maybe I have for a long while but that doesn't mean that I lo-love him, oh merlin I can't believe I said that!" Violet exclaimed, shaking her head furiously whilst completely oblivious to Bea nodding her head with a smirk wide on her lips.

"Violet please calm down," Bea shook her head, patting her best friends shoulder, "so you love Remus-"

"No, I don't!" she squeaked, shaking her head, her cheeks flushed terribly pink whilst Bea couldn't help but burst into convulsions of giggles.

"Violet I'm not going to stop love," she whispered, running a hand through the girl's short hair, "and you so clearly love Remus- merlin, you're head over heels for him and I'm not going to stop that when you would be heartbroken because of it.

When I woke up a few days ago James told me something, he told me that you were the only to clean up Remus when he, uh fell, and when you were doing that James could see this look on your face, the look as though you were falling for him.

And you are and that's okay, I am so protective of Remus, he will always be my big brother and I will always look out for him but I know that if there is anyone in this world that I trust to love him as much as he would love them then it's you, Violet."

The girl smiled, "so you don't mind, I know you said you didn't but I'm just double checking you know? Because you could just be saying that to make me happy when you're not happy with it and I don't want you to not be happy because I love you so much and you are the bestest friend I have ever had and you are like my sister - wait, no! that would be so weird because technically that would make Remus my brother and that's just not right in the slightest - oh merlin, Bea, what is happening to me?!"

"I have no idea but I'm glad I'm not the one that's embarrassing myself," Bea teased, shaking her head, "I think you're turning into me - b-but that would be so weird because technically that would make Remus your brother-"
