Chapter 36
Blue skies painted with the colours of hot burning fire, a sunset loomed over the two coursing through the jungle beneath the blue. Streaks of gold painted a canvas and blue was the background with waves of orange and dashes of pinks and reds and purples all exploding into the masterpiece that was the sunset.
It was a beautiful sight and the young woman stopped her adventure to look up at it, they had been travelling for days and months, years too, really, and sights like the one above was a sight she could always get used to. It was a perfect job for her, to travel far and wide in jungles and forests and foreign lands to her in order to find undiscovered species of plants not yet factual within the information already documented.
She loved her job and loved that the man she called her husband accompanied her on her adventures on occasion. The black hair was messier than usual as it swept in the night's wind, with the black framed glasses he never seemed to grow out of almost falling off of his face as he turned in awe to capture the scenery of everything around them both.
It was a hazy, beautiful sight for the two to share together.
"Ten years," he whispered, voice faint and slightly wavered but she heard it loud and clear, like an echo in her mind and the pride he felt was heard in his tone, "...amazing."
"I think the fact that you haven't screamed at the sight of a tiny lizard is rather amazing," the woman teased, turning to her husband with an amused smile and crinkling eyes filled with delight and love.
"Well that is always amazing, but at least I have my incredibly brave wife to help me out when that time comes," he smirked, using his wand to part the twists of roots and trunks in order to reach her.
"You'll always have me," she smiled, patting his cheek and leaning to kiss him.
She turned on her heel, bringing out the water bottle from the buckle around her ankle and jugging drop after drop of water in order to regain her energy for the trail ahead. Creatures crawled over her as though she was a friend, she posed no real threat and she knew the way to handle the life of the places she went to.
Her husband, on the other hand, creatures scurried out of the way of his large footsteps stomping down on the ground, stumbling around trying not to disrupt anything and even muttering sorry when he saw a few bugs hurry away.
He was always there to cheer his wife on, always there to help her or be there to make sure he could keep an eye on her. She had grown into a fearless young woman, who had no real knowledge of what was too much, the last adventure they travelled together, she almost slipped off the edge of a cliff trying to figure out how it was possible for such a small species of flower to grow within the rocks of the cliffside.
Her husband had her by the ankle and screamed curse words up and down at how unsafe it was.
Her books were a masterpiece, loved by many and even found themselves in the curriculum at Hogwarts for herbology, she was internationally adored as the most fearless adventurer to grace the newly recovered wizarding world from the war they won and defeated the dark lord.
"Bea, be careful, will you?" James asked, hurrying to catch up and turning around a strangely large tree to find her climbing up it, "Bea!"
"Look at this," she whispered, hand trailing over the small flowers that sprouted from the trunk. She had never seen anything like it, flowers of all different kinds, daisies, roses, violets, even singing flowers she couldn't name sprouted from the trunk of the large tree, "...incredible."
