Betty's POV
As I fold my last shirt and shove it in my suitcase, I breathe a huge sigh of relief. I've been in L.A. for almost 7 years now, and I'm finally going home. I'm not moving back forever, I couldn't. Small towns aren't for me, especially not Riverdale, after what happened the summer going into my sophomore year. I'm reluctantly going back for a few months to marry the love of my life, Jack. Both him and my mother insisted we have the wedding in my home town and I wasn't going to win that argument.
"Are you almost ready?" Jack says as he walks into my room.
"Yep" I respond, snapping out of my thoughts.
Jack was driving me to the airport, but he wasn't coming to Riverdale for a few months due to work.
"I don't know how I'm going to go 2 months without you" he says, embracing me in a hug.
"I think you'll survive" I responded, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "We better get going, as much as I'm dreading this, I don't want to miss my plane."
I grab my suitcase and carry on bag, and walk out of our small apartment. Jack walks out behind me and I hear the door lock. I look at him, then I look down at my engagement ring. I can't help smiling.Jack's POV
Betty and I walk out of our apartment complex together. I can't help thinking about how much I love her. I'm going to miss her so much. I'm so glad I'm marrying her.
We climb into my car and start heading towards the airport. It takes us a solid hour to get there, but I don't care, it's more time with the girl I love.
When we finally arrive at the airport, I park my car and Betty and I step out. She grabs her suitcases and I walk her all the way to security. When I can't go farther, we say our goodbyes.
"I love you. So much" I tell her.
"I love you too. It's only a couple of months, we can do this" She says.
"It's going to be hard. I'm going to miss you everyday" I respond.
"We can call and text and facetime" she suggests.
"It won't be the same" I reply and give her a hug.
"I love you," she mumbles into my coat.
We kiss and say goodbye again, and I watch her walk through security.Betty's POV
I start walking towards my gate. Riverdale is a very small town, so I'm flying to the nearest airport and Veronica is going to pick me up and drive me there. She always had dreams of moving to a big city, but then she fell in love with Archie, who was adamant that he wanted to stay in Riverdale. I've stayed in touch with her over the years, but we're nowhere near as close as we used to be. We definitely are still friends though. I find an empty seat by my gate, set my bag down, and pull out my phone. Among snapchats and Instagram notifications, there was a text from Veronica.
Can't wait to see you B, I've missed you!
It's not much, but it makes me smile. I've missed her too. Although I really don't like the town, I have missed all my friends. We always go to Jack's family celebrations for every holiday, since they're right there in California. We went back to Riverdale for Thanksgiving for the first 5 years after I moved to L.A. but then my parents split up, so we started going to Jack's for that too. What I'm getting at is that I haven't seen my friends or family in over 2 years, so seeing them is the one thing I'm excited for.
One of the desk workers goes over the intercom and says that my flight is boarding. I stand up, grab my stuff and walk over to the gate. The lady scans my ticket. I take a deep breath, and step onto the plane.AN // So there's the first chapter. I know it was kind of slow and boring but I'm just giving you some background information and setting up the story. Trust me, it's going to get a lot more interesting! Let me know what you think so far and vote if you're excited for this!!
