I'll Wait For You (Pat x Jen AU) {DISCONTINUED}

Prologue

Pat and Jen were still in middle school. Jen was in sixth grade while Pat was in eighth. Pat's mom called Jen's mom saying that they have important news they liked to share with them. When they arrived Jen was standing behind her mom looking over her shoulder noticing a sad looking Pat sitting on his couch.
Pat's mom: I'm so glad you can make it I have some news that I would like to share with you
Jen's mom: Of course. Jen go with Pat and play some video games
Jen: Okay
Jen went over to Pat and noticed that he was still sad.
Jen: Hey Pat what's wrong
Pat got up and lead her to his room. He sat on his bed and motioned Jen to sit next to him.
Pat: Jen...this might be difficult to tell you but...my mom and I got some news from my dad saying that his mom is in the hospital and he wants us to be there before it's too late...well I never told you about my dad seeing as he doesn't live with me and my my mom but he lives in California and well you know...
Jen: Are you saying you might have to live there...for how long?!
Pat: ...
Jen: Pat...
Pat: I don't know but what I do know is that we might have to live there for a while...at least until my grandma gets better
Jen stared at the floor. She felt tears in her eyes but she tried to stop them. She and Pat knew each other since she was born. Their moms knew each other since they were in high school which explains how Pat and Jen met. Jen then started thinking about the good times they had when they were little and before she knew it she felt tears fall down her face. Pat noticed this and moved over to her to hug her. She turned to him and noticed that he was crying too.
Pat: Jen...
Jen: ...yes...
Pat: I promise that I'll make it back as soon as I can...
Jen hugged him back and said...
Jen: Pat...I'll wait for you...
