Chapter 4

~Time skip to Monday~

Jen was walking to school when she noticed Jack coming towards her. She got nervous and looked down hoping that he wouldn't notice her. As the were about to pass each other Jack got a hold of Jen's waist and turned her so that she was facing him.
Jen: What do you want
Jack: Did you forget about our deal...
Jen: ...
Jack: Thought so. Well since it's Monday and nobody likes Mondays I was thinking that we can maybe go to the park...
Jen: I can't...my mom is home...she might see me...
Jack's expression turned to desperate look.
Jack: Come on...what's then harm...
Jen: Well my mom catching me and grounding me, skipping class which will go to our permanent record, and-
Jack: Hold up! Aren't you the one who skipped school the very first week of school?
Jen: I wasn't thinking then...
Jack: Why? Was it because your "best friend" Pat wasn't there...?
Jen: *blushed* You don't know anything...
Jack: *smirks* You think I don't but I do...now let's stop talking and head to the park...
Jen: I don't have a choice huh...?
Jack: Nope
Jen: *starts tearing up* Fine!
Jack: *frowns* You don't have to cry...
Jen: *gives dirty look*
Jack: Come on let's go
Jen followed Jack to the park and they went to a bench and just sat there. Jack turned to see Jen and noticed Jen crying silently. He had a guilty face and had an idea.

It was lunch time and Pat noticed that Jen was nowhere in sight. He remembered that she said she would go outside so he checked. Pat got worried when he couldn't find her anywhere. He got his phone and texted her.
To: Spicy Cinnamon Roll
From: Pat
Hey where are you?
Pat smiled at the name he gave Jen on his phone and then he realized that it said she saw his message but she didn't reply.
Jen saw the message but so did Jack.
Jack: Don't reply...and that's an order
Jen: *starts crying* Fine...
Jack: Alright come on...let me take you somewhere
Jen: Where...?
Jack: It's a surprise
Jen: Fine...
Jack held Jen's hand and lead her into the downtown part of the town. Jack covered Jen's eyes and lead her to a building.
Jen: Jack...w-where a-are w-we...
Jack: Hang on...
Then out of nowhere a small little meow came out.
Jen: *gasps*
Jack: *uncovers her eyes* Surprise!
Jen was shocked to see a whole litter of kittens in front of her.
Jen: Aw hello little ones...
A small white, puffy, kitten with an angry face walked towards her.
Jack: My sister owns this cat shelter and I remember how much of a cat freak you were when we were younger so I just thought "Why not"
Jen: *smiles brightly* *whispers* Thank you...
???: Jack...what are you doing here?!
Jack: Relax Jacky I'm just here to see the kittens...
Jacky: Fine...you're lucky your my little bro...and who's this...
Jack: Oh this is Jen...you remember her right?
Jacky: Oh that's right! Oh my God it's been a while Jen...wait why are you here with him?!
Jen: ...um we're friends!
Jacky: Okay...Jack she's two years younger than you so don't think of anything alright!
Jack: Yeah yeah I know...
Jacky: I see that cat is interested in you Jen
Jen: I guess...does he or she have a name...
Jacky: His name is Cloud
Jen: He's so cute...
Jack: He looks mad
Jacky: Some cats are born like that
Jen: *holds Cloud to her chest*
Jack: *smiles* *lightly blushes*
Jacky: If you want Jen...you can adopt it right now...
Jen: *turns sad* My mom won't let me...
Jacky: Hm if you want you can adopt it but I can take care of it. You can come every week to check up on him
Jen: I guess I can do that
Jacky: Great! Let me just do some paper work that way we can make Cloud officially yours
Jen: *smiles brightly* Okay!
She has a cute...smile...no what are you thinking Jack you only did this because you want to be on her good side...right..., thought Jack as he was looking at Jen.
Jacky: Alright we are set to go! Cloud is now yours
Jen: Thank you so much!
Jack: We should go now...school's almost over and I have football practice after school so let's go
Jen: Alright
While Jen got out of the shelter Jacky held back Jack.
Jacky: Listen I saw how you looked at her...please don't break her heart...
Jack: ...
Jacky: Jack!
Jack: Promise...
