“Ryan, I shouldn't be upset about it. I barely know him and it's not even my business.”
Ryan and Brendon were sat on the roof of Brendon's house. The sky was painted grey and the smell of fresh rain surrounded the boy's.
“Dude just admit it, you have a crush on him.” as much as it hurt Ryan to say to the other, he had to. He was right, Brendon did like his teacher.
“It's wrong and stupid. I need to forget about him. He's just a teacher, he won't matter to me when school's over.” Brendon laid back on the slanted surface and gazed at the gloomy sky above him. Ryan copied his actions.
“You have a point, but think about it. Do you really mean that? Because I don't think you do.” Ryan didn't want to talk about this with Brendon, but he needed to help his friend. No matter how much he's hurting inside because of it.
Brendon sighed and turned over on his side to face his friend. “I don't know anymore. I don't know if I meant it or not. I'm confused.”
Ryan moved himself to be closer to Brendon and set his hand on the confused boy's shoulder, squeezing it firmly.
“It’s okay to be confused, Bren. Just take some time to think about it more.”
“You're right, Ryan. Thanks. You always help me when I really need it.” Brendon sat up, pulling Ryan up with him and gave the other a hug.
Ryan blushed deeply and his heart rate rapidly increased as Brendon pulled him closer.
“Dude why is your heart beating so fast?” Brendon asked, still embracing the other.
“I uhm, I forgot I was afraid of heights…and I looked down and got scared…”
“Aw, don't be scared. I'm here for ya, buddy.” Brendon proceeded to tighten the hug in hopes of calming his friend down, but failed. Ryan's heart rate only went faster.
Ryan, even though embarrassed, took advantage of the situation and wrapped his arms around Brendon. He buried his head into Brendon's neck and inhaled the scent of his cologne.
It smelled like lavender. Ryan recognized this smell. It was the same cologne he had gotten Brendon for their 6th month anniversary when they were dating.
~yo yo flashback~
Ryan didn't have too much money, but he wanted to make his gift to Brendon special. He and Brendon had been together for half a year. That was longer than most other relationships Ryan has ever been in, so he really wanted this to be special.
He felt bad because he couldn't get Brendon something super expensive, but to Brendon it's the thought that counts. Not the cost.
Brendon would even be happy with a pretty rock Ryan would find. As long as you're thinking about the other person, it shouldn't matter what you get them.
Ryan wasn't like that. He wanted to spoil Brendon. Still, all he had was 50 dollars on him.
“I really don't know what I should get him, Sarah. I want it to be meaningful.”
Sarah went to help Ryan with present shopping. He figured since Sarah was very fashionable, she would be able to help.
“Dude, you don't have to go over the top. Brendon would be happy with anything you get him. Hell, you could even get him nothing and he'd still be happy. Because he has you, Ryan.” Sarah reassured the boy.
“I guess you're right. Hey, look at this.” Ryan pointed out a spherical bottle. It was a pastel purple color and the lettering across it read “L'étreinte de la lavande” (A/N I have no idea if that is an actual perfume or cologne brand I just thought of it at the top of my head. I just looked it up, it's not an actual brand therefore I claim it as my own and if you steal it I will sue. Kidding but also not really IT'S A GOOD NAME OK PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT.)
