Brendon walked guiltily into his bedroom, his two friends stared up at him with a confused expression.

“Where’s Dallon?” Ryan asked. Brendon shrugged and set down the bags with snacks. “He said he had to go...was getting late so he wanted to get home.” he lied. Ryan and Sarah became skeptical, but let it go.

“Alright...well pass give me my snacks I’m fucking hungry.” Ryan demanded.

Monday came too quickly for Brendon. He didn’t want to see Dallon.
I mean, it was technically his fault too! He let me do it, and if he really loved his girlfriend, he wouldn’t have forgotten about her like that. He thought. But it didn’t stop him for feeling bad. Who forgets about a girlfriend you’ve had for 2 years?!
The ashamed teen sulked throughout the hallways, walking incredibly slowly making him late to almost every class. He felt so bad, but he also didn’t. Both the men were at fault.
His last hour was approaching, and with each minute that passed, he became more and more anxious. He planned on doing his absolute best to ignore Dallon. Although, he wouldn’t be surprised if Dallon had the same plan. The bell rang, and Brendon’s anxiety shot through the roof. He shoved his headphones in his ears, turned up his music all the way, and prepared to ignore the living hell out of Dallon.

Brendon walked slowly to the class. Sarah ended up leaving him behind because of how slow he was going. The final bell rang, making all of the students rush to their class, and making Brendon the only person walking the hall. He took his time and ended up walking into class a few minutes after the bell. As he anticipated, once he walked in all attention was on him. The boy ignored his peers, and walked past Dallon without saying a word. His headphones still turned up to the point where he didn’t even hear Dallon’s muffled voice. He only saw the movements of Dallon out of the corner of his eye. He saw Dallon’s body begin to move closer to him, he knew that he was probably in deep shit.

Dallon stood next to Brendon’s desk with his arms crossed, his expression was annoyed and tired. Brendon looked up at the teacher, his headphones still blasting in his ears. Dallon rolled his eyes and kneeled down next to the desk. He looked upset and disappointed in Brendon. Brendon began to feel bad, but he still didn’t take the headphones out. He saw Dallon’s lips move, but he couldn’t read them. The only word he could make out was “please.”
Brendon looked away and continued to ignore the man, despite his sudden change of feelings.

He saw Dallon sigh out of the corner of his eye, and watched him move back to the front of the classroom. He looked over at Ryan next to him, and then Sarah on the other side of him.

They both looked confused and shocked. He decided to ignore them as well. For the rest of the class period, Brendon did nothing but listen to his music for the rest of the class. When the bell rang, Brendon didn’t hear it. He continued to sit at his desk and sit there, staring at his pencil. Ryan and Sarah decided to give him his space, so they didn’t tell him that it was time to go or anything.

After a few minutes, Brendon felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Dallon there again, with no one else in the classroom. Brendon got up and pushed past the teacher and began to walk out the door until he felt Dallon grab his arm and pull him back. Brendon was positioned in front of Dallon, his arms being glued to his sides with the strong force of Dallon’s hand holding him. Dallon yanked out Brendon’s earbuds and began speaking. “What is wrong with you?” is what he asked. Brendon didn’t answer. “Listen I don’t know what your problem is, but you can’t do shit like this. Your personal problems should not interfere with your academics.”

Brendon pulled himself out of Dallon’s grip and scoffed. “You don’t know what my problem is? Really? Did your fucking memory of this weekend just disappear? Do you realize how horrible I felt? How horrible I still feel? You shouldn't be feeling any better about yourself considering you completely forgot about your girlfriend. Like who does that?”
