Chapter 1:
CHAPTER 1:
I can feel the warm breeze drifting through my open window, my radio is turned all the way up, and I am gloriously free. My eyes are drifting along the road and that's how I noticed the store, or at least it used to be. Now it's boarded up and abandoned, which means a perfect place for me to take pictures.
As soon as I stepped into the store I knew it was perfect, everything looked straight out of an old magazine. Looking around for the perfect angle, I noticed that I was not alone in the store. There was a tall man standing behind the counter, staring right at me. I knew that there was no point in trying to hide, I was already caught trespassing, so I decided to introduce myself.
"Hello, my name is Violet. I am so sorry for trespassing, I am a travelling photographer and this looked like the perfect place for me to take pictures." I apologized, but he didn't reply, he only stared at me. "Well I should be leaving, again I am..." I trail off quietly when I notice the animalistic look in his eyes. I start to slowly make my way to the door, but before I could leave he jumps over the counter to stand in front of me, grabbing me by the waist and pulling me into him. I stood there in shock, trying to figure out what was going on. As soon as I register that this stranger had his hand on me I started to try and pull away from him, and when he wouldn't let go I lashed out at him, slapping him across the face.
As soon as my hand met his face he yanked his hands off of me and I took off. I dug through my purse, searching for my keys and when I finally found them, I cranked up my car and took off down the street without looking back. After what felt like forever, I began to slow down, but one glance in my mirror showed that I couldn't slow down just yet. I pressed down on the pedal, flying down the road. I was too focused on staying ahead of the car following me that I didn't notice the deer run out in front of me until it was too late. I slammed on the brakes and jerked the wheel, sending my car skidding into a ditch. The force of my car hitting the ditch jerks me forward, causing me to slam my head against my steering wheel. I tried to get out, but I could barely move because I was so disorientated. I heard my door being forced opened and I feel myself being pulled into someone's arms. I tried to pull away, knowing that it was the guy from the coffee shop.
"You need to stay still, it's gonna be ok." He murmured in my ears. My only reply was a groan as I struggled to keep my eyes open. I heard a door open and then felt myself being placed onto a soft surface. The guy slammed my door shut and ran around to the driver's side. I felt the car lurch forward as he took off, driving me to an unknown place.
We came to a sudden stop, causing me to groan in pain. "Shh, it is all going to be ok, I promise." He murmurs taking me back into his arms. I try to look around, to get some sort of clue on where I am, but all I can make out is a house.
"GIRLS, GET DOWN HERE NOW," the guy screams as he runs into the house. I can feel the jostling as he runs up the stairs, carrying me to another room. I feel myself being placed onto another soft surface, but my head was spinning, preventing me from being able to look around. I can hear voices around me, asking me if I was ok and what happened. I try to open my mouth to answer, but my headache is beginning to get a lot worse, and I can feel the blood of my face from where the hit busted my head open. Not being able to stay awake any longer, I let the darkness consume me.
