Chapter 21:

Every fairytale has a happy ending, but my life isn't a fairytale. I never thought it would end like this, with me bleeding out on the ground as I watch the ones I love and treasure get slaughtered. I always thought that I would end up happy; that I would have kids and someone I could keep by my side. But unlike fairytales, my ending isn't happy it's just tragic.

Violets POV

"Princess! I'm coming in!" David's voiced boomed through the door, causing me to violently jump. Nobody, not even him, has talked to me since I was first brought to this room. That was two days ago. I have spent both days screaming bloody murder at the walls, trying to make him angry enough so that he will come back. I want to know how Jaiden is and I want to know why I can't feel him anymore. I know that he didn't die, because I am absolutely positive that me and my wolf would feel if we lost him. But these two days of radio silence were purposefully so him coming here means one thing, something major has happened.

"There seems to have been an issue with your pack." He started, smiling maliciously. He grabs my hair and yanks me towards him, pulling on it sharply. I try to contain my cry, but he knows how much he is hurting me.

"What is the issue?" I croak, desperately trying to hide my growing fear and pain.

"They thought they could beat me." He simply stated before tugging me towards the window. He yanked open the blinds and shoved my face in the window. I could see fighting out in the distance. I couldn't make out who was who, but I knew. I knew that Jaiden's pack, our pack, had come to save us. I couldn't help the sliver of hope that crept its way into me. I know David's pack is strong, but our pack is stronger. We couldn't afford to lose, and they knew that. Winning was our only choice.

"Maybe they can," I snap at David and yank my arm out of his hands. He let out a loud laugh at my words and grabbed a fistful of my hair, yanking my head back.

"Maybe they could, if it was just one pack. I knew that this was coming, so I made sure to call in some favors." He sneered and forcibly kisses me, making me gag. I yank my head back and glare at him nastily.

"You ass. That isn't a fair fight and you know it." I snapped and tried to pull away from his hold. He wraps his hand tightly around my throat, making me freeze in fear.

"Princess, I never said that I fought fair. I will do anything to get what I want." He releases my throat and storms out of the room. Leaving me locked up, safe and sound, while everyone else fought for his or her lives. I knew there was no point in trying the window; I've tried breaking it several times. I threw heavy objects at it, but the window didn't even crack. My only hope was someone finding me.

~Jaiden's POV~

David and his beta have tried every form of torture there can possibly be. My screams echoed against these walls, until they made my own ears bleed. I've begged them to tell me what they want, but they only laugh. They don't want anything but to see me in pain. The only thing that is giving me some sort of relief is hearing them talk privately about Violet. I know she's still alive and somehow managed to piss of David so much that he hasn't talked to her in two days. I'm proud of her. I know that she will continue to fight back for the rest of her life, and that brings me more pride than she will ever know.

"JAIDEN!" I hear someone yell my name from down the hall, making me jump in fear. "JAIDEN WHERE ARE YOU????" I hear them yell again. The voice sounds almost familiar, but I don't know how. I have been so paranoid lately that I feel like every voice I hear is another person coming to torture me.
