Chapter 10:
Since I have a 'concussion' Jai hasn't let me out of bed. And I'm going stir-crazy.
" Jaiden, I swear to God, if you make me stay one more day in this bed I will bite your head off!" I scream as he walks in with a plate of food.
"Baby, you have a concussion, you need to stay in bed...." He trails off when he sees my furious expression.
"I don't care that I have a concussion. I want to go get my car, I want to go shopping, and I want to talk to other people other than you and your Gamma!" I exclaimed and threw my hands in the air. I am absolutely sick of spending all day in this bed. He doesn't even let me go to the kitchen! He has a guard outside of the door to keep me from leaving!
"Hey what's wrong with me?" Cole asked from behind Jaiden, giving me a highly offended look.
"You are just as bad as him, if not worse. At least Jaiden lets me get up and stretch." I accused
"Alpha's orders..." He says sheepishly, giving me a shy grin.
"Today, I want you too get out of this room. I don't care if the whole calvary is with me. " I snapped at Jaiden
"Alpha, Maya can go with her. I'm sure that she wouldn't mind." Cole offers, obviously trying to make up for his and Jaiden's possessiveness.
"Finally! We are actually making progress!" I throw my hands up in the air and thank to good lord almighty.
"I don't approve. You could get hurt again. I'm not going to play Russian Roulette with your safety." One look at Jaiden's face and I knew what this was really about. The last time I was in town, I was kidnapped by some deranged weirdo. Then, on top of that, the last time I stepped a foot outside of the protection of a house, I ended up with a concussion.
"Jaiden, you aren't playing Russian Roulette. It is ok for me to get out a little bit. You are absolutely welcomed to come. Greg is locked up, and I am not going anywhere near some rocks." I soothed and stood up to wrap my arms around Jaiden. I can practically feel the tension leave his body when he feels my touch. Over the past few days of me being on bed rest, I have learned more about Jaiden's kind. I know that eye contact and touch between mates does wonders on releasing tension.
"Ok, I'm sorry baby I know that I have been really controlling. I just don't want to lose you. How about me and you go get some lunch?" Jaiden suggest, making a smile break out on my face.
"I would absolutely love that." I give him a quick kiss on his cheek and make my way to the closet. "Alright, now back to business. Cole, I need you to leave unless you would like to deal with Jaiden's wrath of you seeing me undressed," I have to pause because of the loud growl that Jaiden let out, glaring at Cole ruthlessly. Cole quickly raised his hands in submission, calming Jaiden down enough so that I could finish. "Then after I am ready, we can go to lunch, ok baby?" I give Jaiden a smile and watch in wonder at how much affection he put into one smile.
"Ok, but first, me and you need to talk about the safety prot-," I interrupt him by placing a kiss on his lips.
"Relax, I will be fine." I promise and he gives me a short nod before him and Cole make their way out of the bedroom.
"What are you going to order?" I ask Jaiden as I look over the diner menu. He took me to a Waffle House, which completely confirms that he really is meant for me. He doesn't say anything, so I look up and notice him glaring at a person that was walking in our direction.
