Alex drives us to a sandwich place and I sat in the back while Nicole got to sit in front, chatting it up with Alex.

I sat next to Alex at the table and Nicole sat across from us.

"I haven't seen you around town before. Did you recently move here?" I asked her.

"Yea actually. I just moved here from Australia. Alex was the first person I met." She smiled at him. It was painfully obvious that she was into Alex. But did he feel that way?

The waitress takes our order and while we waited, Alex and Nicole talk again. This is so rude. I take out my phone.

Rose- Hey Daddy 😘
Andre- BABY GIRL!!!
R- I miss you guys too much. I think I'll be ready to come home tomorrow night.
A- That's fine. As long as your feeling better and ready to come home, we'll be here for you.
R- Okay I luv you
A- Love you more 💕

Alex leans over and looks at my phone. "Ooooo who's Andre?" He smirks.

"Nunya."

"Geez no need to be rude."

"Well leaving people out f conversations is rude but you don't see me complaining." I laugh. Why is he acting like this? He's completely different.

Nicole sits there in silence, eyeing back and forth from me and Alex.

"Let's talk for a sec. Excuse us." Alex takes my hand and leads me outside.

"Okay what's wrong?" He sighs.

"What do you mean? I'm fine. It's you that has something going on and you're acting brand new with me. What do you like Nicole or something?"

He crosses his arms and nods. "Yes but I'm not acting brand new. Why are you being rude?"

"I'm not! It's you being weird!"

"Can you please just act your age? You're acting like a child."

I step back and furrow my brows. He's never been like this to me. And telling a little to act their age kinda hurts.

I want to cry and hit his stupid head. Instead, I run off. He calls after me but doesn't try to stop me.

I ran about four blocks until I bumped into someone talking to their friends. I land on my butt with a thud. Ouchie.

"Oh shit. Are you okay?" A man says. I look up to see a group of older men who looked like a gang of bikers. He reaches out and helps me stand on my feet.

"What's the hurry?" One of them says.

"I needed to get away from a stupid boy." I puff my cheeks and stomp my foot.

They all laugh. "Boys are stupid but real men like us are smart. Now where's your daddy little one?" He kneels down.

"How yous know I'm a little?"

"My little is just like you." He smiles.

"They in Chicago. I'm here to visit until tomorrow." I shift on my feet.

"My name is Dean. These are my boys and there's more inside. Why don't you come inside and eat?" He pays my head and I smile. "My name is Rose."

We walk into the noisey bar. It was packed with bikers. They were playing darts, pool, slots, and sitting at the bar watching a game.

"Do you like burgers?" Dean asks me. I nodded. He sits me on one of the bar stools next to this lady and he sits next to me. "Gloria this is Rose. She's a little like my David." He says to the woman next to me. She turns to me and lights up.

"You're that missing kid! Oh my god Dean don't you recognize her from the news?" She examines my face. "What happened to you? Do you need to go to the police? Are you injured?"

"I'm fine!" I stop her. "I was away from home for a little while and moved to Chicago. I'm just visiting." I reassure her. She sighs in relief.

"I was so worried!" Gloria laughs.

The bartender slides a plate to me with a burger and fries. She winks and goes back to making drinks.

"After you get finished eating, I'll take you back to where you're staying." Dean says. I look at him and take notice to his features. He had old hazel eyes and a white beard. He looked to be in his mid forties. His hair was covered with a red bandana.

"I was staying with the stupid boy." I frown.

"Why is he stupid?"

"He- he said um that I was acting like a child and and that I should act my age. He was acting weird when this ugly girl showed up and treated me like poop." I say, stumbling over my words.

Dean chuckles and scratches his beard.

"Like poop, huh? Alright then. If you want to stay somewhere else, Gloria can take you in for the night." Gloria nods.

"Tank you!"

I stayed over at Gloria's house and slept in the guest room. She talked to me about her husband and how he was in New York for business. I told her about me leaving tomorrow to ho back to Chicago and she offered to drive me afyer I got my stuff from Alex's apartment. She gave me pajamas and tucked me in.

When I woke up, I walked into the kitchen to see her making French toast and eggs.

"Hey sweet pea. Sleep well?"

I yawn and rub my eyes. "Yes thank you."

"I made you some breakfast if your hungry." She puts the eggs on the plate along with the French toast. I take the plate from her and eat at the small table in the kitchen. She joins me and drinks her coffee.

"Do you have any kids Gloria?"

She smiles and shakes her head.

"Nope. I really wanted to but I can't have kids." She looks into her cup and stirs it slowly. "Adoption is too expensive. It's just been me and my husband Rick for 23 years."

"I'm sorry. I bet your kids would have been just as nice as you are."

"Thank you Rose."

Hellur it's me 😁

Unfortunately, the book has about a couple more chapters. I decided to go with the Happy but Disappointing ending instead of the Bad ending. I might write it just so you can see what would happen
