The queen walked out of the throne room with guards trailing behind her. Roderia was left all alone with the king and she fidgeted with her hands. The king looked to his left and got a guards attention.
"Bring the royal Blacksmith." And the guard nodded and bounced down the stairs and towards the door. A couple minutes later of uneasy silence, the door banged open and a middle aged man stepped over the threshold and into the the throne room. He bowed down before her father.
"I was called your majesty?" he said as he stood back up. The king tapped his fingers impatiently on the armrest of the throne.
"I want you to acquire the most durably steel and make an armor for this young woman." The king gestured towards Roderia. The middle aged man looked in her direction then nodded. The king waved his hand in dismissal. Roderia was nostalgic because Erwin would always do this to dismiss meetings or groups. He then made Roderia co me in front of him.
"I want you to go to the royal armory and get measured for the right measurements. Go now." He commanded and Roderia bounded down the steps and a guard showed her the rest of the way to the armory. She saw a building with little puffs of black smoke from the top. Heat radiated from the door as she came closer. It was blazing hot that it made her feel like her skin was going to melt off. She looked inside and saw a boy near her age working on a blade. He hammered the hot metal and made sure it was straight then dipped it in water. It made a sizzling noise as he dipped it. Roderia carefully stepped in and the boy noticed her.
"What business do you have here soldier?" He asked her as he stuck the blade on a rack.
"For measurements ordered by the king." The boy nodded and left to the back. Roderia went over to the rack of blades and picked up two. She went into a battle pose and swung a couple of times. She put the blade on her finger tips. The blade balanced perfectly. She threw it up and grabbed onto the handle expertly. Shes took a swing and almost knocked a pot of met ling steel over.
"Shit!" she cried out as the blade fell close to her feet. She picked it up once things died down and stuck it back on the rack. She turned around to see the boy standing there.
"I'm sorry i was just-" She stuttered but her words would not come out properly.
"Its okay. I have the measuring tape." He put the tape on the table and Roderia came towards him and stood still for him to measure. The boy measured everywhere, and wrote down the numbers on a piece of paper.
"The blade you made...it was amazing. Perfectly balanced, sharp and a knife, and it looked expertly made as well." The boy nodded and smiled at her compliment.
"Thank you, but i am simply an apprentice for the main blacksmith. My name is Guyson. Guyson Tak." HE put the measuring tape down and wrote down the final numbers.
"Okay, your armor will be ready in four days." The boy held out a hand and Roderia shook it. Roderia smiled at Guyson and turned to leave. The wind whipped her hair from her eyes, and she saw the forest where The headquarters for the scouting legion was. Her heart tightened in her chest and she quickly bottled her feelings and left to go to the throne room. She was halfway there when a guard stopped her.
"By the orders of the king, you are not allowed near the throne room." The guard held a hand to stop her from proceeding forward. Roderia looked at him weirdly.
"But, i don't know what else to do, Why is he not letting me in-"
"Kings orders. Deal with it." The guard stayed where he was until Roderia moved away from her original destination. Roderia went to her room, laying down on the bed. Her head hurt, her heart hurt, everything just hurt. She curled into a ball on the bed, and put the covers over herself to hide her from the world. But she couldn't stop thinking about Erwin, and how far away he is, and how she probably won't see him until much later in her life. Tears silently made their way down her cheek and she let them run down onto the covers. All she wanted was a peaceful life with Erwin and knowing that she was away from her former life. She has to protect those who need protecting. But its hard when she has to watch what she is doing and where she is going because there is still one person who wants her killed.
