The world swished around, and something fell on top of her weak body. Hooves of horses hit the ground with strength, the thing that she was in creaked.

She was in a carrige.

Roderia's eyes snapped open and she frantically tired to get out of her bindings. Her hands twisted along the rope, burning and becoming hot. The pain kept her from thinking about anything. The rope was loose enough to slip her hands through, and she rubbed her hands against the walls. It was pitch black outside, save for the few lanterns here and there. She twised the curtain of the carrige in her hand, and reached for the handle. It was locked from the outside, she could hear the chime of something blocking it.

The horses suddenly became uneasy,  and Roderia could here the carrige begin to turn.

"Let go!" She heard Dmitri yell. Then she saw his body fall on the ground and get swished away by the cloud of dirt as they passed. Roderia stayed silently in the back, working the door handle to open. The Carrige was moving fast and it suddenly did a u-turn. the wheels sqeaked and landed harshly on the dirt. Roderia punched through the carrige window, and looked out.

If she jumped, she would have to land perfectly. They were close to the palace, but they were now heading away from it. buildings were on one side while a forest on the other.

If only Erwin were here.

They passed through a gate with ease and Roderia had a better chance here to jump out.

She grabbed the rough window edge and pushed herself slowly out of it. Her hands got cut from the shards and she fell to the ground as the carrige pulled away. The noise of the horses and carrige were fading and Roderia pushed herself to a sitting position. Her wrists were raw from the bindings, and her hands were cut and filled with dirt. She climbed to her feet and looked around. She started to head the other way when she saw a dim light in the distance. She stopped where she was.

It came closer. She hid in the trees, carefully climbing from limb to limb. The bark dug into her cuts and she flinched in pain everytime she had to clench down hard onto a branch. She finally made it up to a high point and waited.

She heard the sound of crunching gravel underneath a shoe. Leaves being crushed and sticks being snapped. The lantern showed a silhouette of a man. A tall broad shouldered man that looked as if he was really strong came forward. Roderia held her breath as he came closer. Her hands started to tremble as he came to her tree. Now she couldn't see him, since he went behind her vision. But she could hear the footsteps passing her tree.

But then they stopped.

Roderia closed her eyes tightly. Please don't come here...please don't come here. She chanted to herself. Then she heard the footsteps continue. She regained her breath and moved, causing a stick to snap off loudly and fall right below her.

The footsteps were no longer there. They were now running stomps. Roderia curled up into a ball and stayed as still as possible, trying not to gain attention.

"Is anyone there?" Said a familiar voice.

Roderia thought he left for the expedition. but here Erwin was, standing beneath her.

She climbed down, but her hands were cut so badly that blood soaked her shirt when she wiped them. They became slick with the hot plasma.

Her hands slipped and she fell. Her back took the pain and she got the wind knocked out of her. She wasn't that high to where she could get seriously injured but that could get her some major bruises.

Erwin flashed the lantern on her face, and she was on her back, gasping for breath. Erwin ran to her and fell to his knees.

"Roderia!" He grabbed her head and lifted her up slowly. She was tearing up from the mixture of pain and relief. She smiled at him, seeing his eyes glitter with held back tears. He leaned down, and she felt his soft moist lips touch hers. They kissed for a few more seconds, then She felt Erwin lift her up off the ground.

"I thought you were outside the walls?" Roderia questioned. Erwin took a deep breath. She saw him glance down with sorrow.

"I can't tell you anything, my dear." he said. He clutched Roderia hard, to where he could feel it even though she was wearing the armor. They should've given her gloves with this suit.

"Why not?" Roderia closed her eyes and tried to think of reasons. Does he not care? Do I have a risk of knowing something I shouldn't?

"Your on the wrong team, hun. I can't tell military police, expecially one on the kings personal guard, our plans. Your wearing the wrong symbol." Even as he said this Roderia knew that she had no choice in the matter. Her anger was built up again and tears were almost coming out of her eyes.

"Its not like I wanted to be picked!!" She whispered fiercely. Erwin shook his head.

"No...you didn't want to be picked. I didn't want you to be picked."
