The dark enveloped everything, closing every lantern that was illuminating the buildings to a silent whisp of light. They gave the stone buildings an eerie feeling, even with Dmitri 'protecting' Roderia. He led her towards the outskirts of town, to a little bar with lights flickering inside. They stabeled their horses at some poles and secured them with symbols of stolen mafia tags.
"Glide was last seen around this building." Dmitri said. Roderia heard people singing and playing instruments. People yelled and talked, a couple of drunks stumbling out of the bar doors.
"I swear I saw a bitch somewhere around here." One of the men slurred. The other man nodded his head anxiously.
"Where is that Whooorree?" The man tripped and fell on his face, his friends laughing at him. Roderia slowly retreated to the darkness behind the building and she heard the men fight each other. Dmitri shook his head slowly, and waited for Roderia to make a move.
"This is your test, remember?" Dmitri whispered. Roderia bit her lip.
"What Is this place?"
"A bar. it houses some people if they are too drunk. Of course you pay." He pointed to some of the windows up on the top of the building. liitle rails connected the windows and stairs led down. Roderia nodded and grabbed a rail and pulled a ladder down. She climbed, Dmitri following. She got to the first window and pushed the window pane in.
She should've checked if someone was in there first.
A man and a woman were on the floor, and what she saw made her Blush so hard. She was reminded of Erwin for some reason, his body and his touch. The sweet sensation of his lips on hers, feeling his warmth and arms close around her. Roderia felt a sting in her eyes and concentrated on what was happening.
"Sorry 'scuze me!" Roderia said as she bolted to the door. She heard Dmitri stumble through, and Roderia banged the door open. They quickly went through, and she finally let out a deep breath.
"Well that was...quite the sight." Dmitri said. She looked at him and noted the slight pink in his cheeks. His mocha eyes swiftly looked around and then looked at Roderia.
"Ladies first." He said as he made a motion for her to go. Rodria gulped as she tried to block out the moans and groans coming from behind the doors. She went down the hall and turned.
"Glide was residing in room 213."
So Roderia went back a little and finally found room 213. She carefully opened the doors, with her hand on a silver knife tucked away in her pocket. She quickly opened the door and never had to take the knife out. The room was made, not as neat as it should be though. The covers were tossed over the bed as if the people were in a hurry.
A light red spot was stained on the carpet, and Roderia kneeled down. She pushed lightly on the stain, and saw that it was about two days old. the bloodnqas crusted, and seems as though it was mixed with wine to wipe the scent. Dmitri checked the closet and found nothing.
"So what exactly am I supposed to be looking for?" Roderia asked.
"Clues to where Glide is located now." Roderia restes a hand on the wall. If she was a criminal like Glide, then she would need to hide in the most secure place. One that the Kings police wouldn't think of going to.
"Have you possibly tried...the bank?" Roderia asked. Dmitri looked at her as if she were stupid.
"Why would they be there?" He mockingly said. Roderia threw her hands in the air.
"Because they would need a place that was secure, where they thunk no one ould find them. What you just said proves my point." Dmitris faces contorted into unamusement.
"Fine, we try that in an hour." Dmitri yawned a bit, a slight pink still in his cheeks. Roderia began to become selfnconcious. This is a guy, almost same age as Erwin, maybe younger, who has seen something that would make any man have special...needs. Roderia sat down on the other side of the room and looked out the window. In the distance she could hear a swishing sound. Then torches began to light up. She heard the deafening roar of the walls being open.
The Scouting legion was going on an expedition.
Roderia heart burst as she saw the soldiers riding on horses towards the wall. They passed her building, and she could see them with strange faces. She could barely see one person leading, most likely Erwin, then a bunch of horses and heads covered her vision of him. Tears sprung to her eyes and she wiped them angrily away. She stood up, preparing to leave the scene and jump on one of those horses. Her hand and leg was almost out of the window when Dmitri grabbed and yankek her back.
"Follow your Orders from the king, Roderia." Dmitri said in her ear. Roderia grabbed her knife and made Dmitri back off. Her tears flowed down her face, and the world was becoming blurry. Dmitri held his hand up in surrender, but Roderia knew better.
"Let me leave, please." Roderia begged. She stood in fighting position but Dmitri blocked her and cornered her. He grabbed her arms and yanked them up.
"I cant do that. Kings Orders." He tied rope around her arms and feet. She put up a fight, kicking him when she can. But Dmitri knew where all of her weapons were.
He wouldn't let her go. And she could hear the wall closing. Erwin was gone once again.
She sagged against the wall in defeat, but knew that she will have to break out soon. It doesnt matter anymore. She needs to leave now.
"This was going to be easier then I thought."
Dmitri said. That was when she saw the queens symbol embedded in his armor. A small black cobra.
Dmitri was going to kill her. One way or another. He grabbed a wooden post and broke it. Then dragged Roderia by the hair to the middle of the room. He swung the the wood down and knocked her out.
