Explosives?"Wh- what are these Caleb? What are you up too?"
He looked up to me and laughed. Is there something funny? Or do I not get it?
"What? Do you think I'm a terrorist now?" He asks.
"Caleb, I honestly don't know what you are up to anymore!" I say sighing, he's never home much anymore, he has become a lot more skinny and we don't talk as much as we use to, every now and then he will call me out of the blue and just start a conversation with me, I think he does this because he misses me. He use to come home everyday and we would hang out, play PlayStation and verse each other having a really fun time. I think he doesn't come home as much because of Heather, she has messed with him and said a lot of stuff she shouldn't of said.
"what have you got here anyway? And what are you planning on doing with it anyway?"
"They are fireworks!"
"What?!"
"Yeah, they are fireworks. Let's go let some of them off!" He looks so excited. I haven't seen him like this in ages.
Thinking.
Contemplating.
Ah fuck it, what's the worst that could happen right?......... Right?
"Just don't tell Heather or Dad you have them" I say sighing, whilst he has the biggest grin on his face.
Walking to the park down my street with Caleb, Chase and Luca felt a little awkward, the only thing that made me more comfortable was Shadow walking by my side.
When Caleb and I tried to leave, Chase and Luca wouldn't have it. They said Sienna was asleep and our parents were probably too drunk to know we were gone. So they joined us.
Caleb told them that if they snitched on him he'd bash them, so they stayed quiet.
Walking in the middle of the field, Caleb places one of his fire works down.
"Step away so you don't get hurt Alexa." Caleb says. Although Caleb is a real little shit and gives a lot of people a hard time, he's my brother and I know he loves me. I'm the only person he ever really shows affection to and he's very protective of me. Another reason why he probably threatened the boys.
Watching him set the work up, I watch as he grabs his lighter out of his pocket and sets the wick alight. With a spark it stars burning.
Burning.
Burning.
Until it reaches the core and shoots up into the air. Looking up I see no explosion or colours and I'm kinda disappointed. What happened?
Not a second later. A beautiful array of spectacular colours stretch against the darkness void of the nights sky. The beautiful spectrum of colours burst, twinkle and shine in the sky, not before a massive explosion lets off echoing throughout the whole area.
A sudden jolt from the sound of the firework makes me step back. Until I bump into a tree, feeling something grip onto my waist, I looking behind me to see in fact that it wasn't a tree, but Luca. Looking up to his eyes I don't see any humour. I see a questionable look, as if he's thinking about something. Calculating it in his head.
Taking this as my chance to leave this awkward position, I walk around and sit next to my dog. Who might I add, does not seemed fazed by anything happening what's so ever. Looking over to him. I really think. What did I do to deserve such a beautiful gift in my world? This dog is why I get out of bed in the mornings. This dog is the reason I wake up on the weekends. He has brought me so much happiness, I just smile and place a hand over his back.
