It was summer '17, the hottest one yet. Heatstrokes left and right. If you saw someone they were bound to be halfway naked. Surprisingly, today was cool enough for the annual neighborhood cookout. --- "So Y/N, are you going this year?" Cyn asked checking out herself in the full body mirror. Y/N sat up and looked at Cyn. "Why not? I go every year." Cyn looked at her from the mirror. "You know exactly why I'm asking. Shaun will be there." Y/N rolled her eyes and threw herself back down on the bed.
Shaun was Y/N's ex boyfriend from their 1 1/2 year relationship. They had to end what they had going on because Y/N found out that Shaun was in another relationship. Sadly, Shaun and the girl are still together. Y/N still misses him from time to time. Shaun was her first everything; kiss, love, and sexual partner.
"I will not let Shaun being there ruin my fun. I might even find someone to spend my fun with there." Y/N answered. Cyn turned around and looked at Y/N with an eyebrow raised in shook. "Is this the same 'I'll never get over Shaun until I have his severed head in my hand' Y/N from just last week?" Cyn questioned. Y/N shrugged her shoulders and slowly planted a smirk on her face. "Lets just say things change." "C'mon, we have to get you dressed then. The cookout is in an hour." Cyn giddily spoke dragging Y/N into her closet.
After multiple fashion disasters Cyn had finally dressed Y/N to be a sun kissed babe. It complimented Y/N brown complexion perfectly. Y/N walked out of the closet and stood in front of the full body mirror. She examined her outfit and smiled.

"It's perfect. Thanks Cyn." Cyn just waved Y/N's thank you off. "No problem, girly. Now, let's get to the cookout." The two girls headed out the door and down the street to their destination.

"Girls, welcome." Mrs.Greta greeted to Cyn and Y/N. Mrs.Gretta and her husband were the host of the cookout. They were a couple who believed in bringing joy for their neighbors. "Hi, Mrs.G. I still can't believe you guys threw the get together." Y/N spoke. "Oh girl, we were lucky to be able to throw it. I hope the heat doesn't surprise us and take us out." Mrs.Gretta joked. "You girls go ahead to the backyard. I have to fix more macaroni." Mrs. Gretta spoke again walking away and towards the kitchen.
Cyn and Y/N made their way to backyard and scanned the group to see who all were there. Cyn gasped. "Look Y/N, it's Joshua. Ooh, he's gotten handsome. You wouldn't mind if I dip would you?" Cyn asked while ogling a young man over by the grill. Y/N laughed at the star struck girl and shook her head.
After Cyn headed off on adventure Y/N continued looking around and instantly frowned once she saw who was walking up to her, Shaun. "Hey Y/N." Shaun greeted flashing her a toothy smile. Y/N scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Where's Aiyana?" She asked referring to Shaun's girlfriend. Shaun smacked his lips at the statement. "I just came over here to speak,Y/N. That's all."
