That's Not Your Wife Anymore

It's been three days since we've been held captive here. Joe and his men grew viscous every single day. I knew deep down I couldn't do anything just yet.

But if Joe lays a finger on Aurei, I'll make sure I castrate him and feed him off to a herd of roamers.

Aurei hugs her knees, looking straight ahead. Then her eyes dart to me...they were full of tiredness and anxiety. But I still remember to be nice to her.

"Hey," I chirp, scooting backwards to sit beside her.

"What's the matter?" She asks, her voice almost dazed.

She couldn't stay in this room for any longer. She'll break. No wonder Bianca lost every bit of humanity in her body. My deepest fear was emptiness, it could happen to anyone.

"Just know I love you." I said, hugging her.

"Love you too sis." She replies, laying on my shoulder.

"I have a plan." I whisper.

Her eyes widen to the size of saucers. She covers her mouth to hide her relieved smile.

"It wouldn't kill you to show emotions Aurei." I said noncholantly.

"I could say the same for you." Aurei shot back, raising a eyebrow.

Ouch.

"I just needed time Aurei...to process the fact that he put your life at risk. And for that, he must pay." I growl, but took a deep breath.

"I understand that...but just think of keeping your humanity...I'm starting to think you're losing it." Aurei confesses, finger combing her black frizzy hair.

"Look. I know I haven't been the best lately. But this isn't something anyone should be taking lightly. But next time, be more open when you're worried, bottling up feelings can destroy you before the dead could." I warn, leaning against her.

"I never thought of that until now." Aurei mumbles, yawning.

The door opens to reveal Adam holding one can of beans. His glare burns into mine. I hate this bastard. But I should be careful about talking to Aurei, they could've been eavesdropping.

"This enough for both of you, luckily Joe was kind enough to put two spoons in it this time." Adam said, before setting it down.

We begun to eat, hopefully I could look for ways to escape as I ask one of Joe's men to escort me to the bathroom. Although it bugged me.

"They treat us like fucking pigs." Aurei said sourly.

Again, I could care less if Aurei swears in front of me. She's smarter than to swear at a unknown man with a gun in his hand.

Aurei finishes the rest of the beans, then she grabs her inhaler that Joe was considerate enough to let her keep.

They about used up our ammo for our stolen guns, they had more than enough food but were greedier than the roamers theirselves.

But most of the time I let Aurei finish off the scraps, she needed more fuel to keep going.

"Sunset. We're gonna have to sleep early in order to be fully awake tomorrow." I suggest, laying back, facing the left side of the mattress.

Aurei faces the right side of the mattress, closing her eyes.

The plan. Tomorrow morning I'm going to ask to be escorted to the bathroom...then I would fight Joe's man for the gun, shoot him by the legs, once Joe and the last of his men come to see, I would put a bullet through their heads. I'm not going to like it but it has to be done in order to escape this hellhole.
