Aurei walks down the hall, I felt so weak....I hate how all men think that I'm trying to be that girl who kicks everyone's without breaking a sweat, and I definitely hate how everyone thinks I'm cocky and stronger than everyone else. Joe even said I would meet someone stronger.

But Aurei....she didn't say a word, she didn't cry...thank goodness she didn't....according to Elise, this man was a sick bastard...abusive, possesive, cowardly. But it was like that moment when Mom turned...it was too fast, but at least she didn't kill him just to prove that she's strong to Dr. Mayfield....

No, I can't think like that.

Laurie walks up to me, her eyes widen when she glimpses at Aurei. Aurei just walks past her.

"What happened??" Laurie asks.

"Elise's husband....he hit her, tried to choke me out but Aurei shot him....Elise will tell you what that bastard has been doing right under your nose." I said, Laurie grabs my shoulder.

"Keep a close eye on Aurei....she didn't even look at me....we don't know what's going on in her head....I'm not saying that she's a killer. I know that because she has a good heart....but even we have to let people know that we aren't to be messed with." Laurie said, giving my shoulder a squeeze.

"I get it....thanks for understanding Laurie." I said with a nod. She smiles.

"I've been in that position before....I just want her to go down the right path." Laurie said, she's right. But the good-hearted people become hardened from people who just aren't built for this world. I don't like killing people, but if they pull some stupid bullshit and try to kill us...I won't hesitate. But deep down....I should've been the one to kill him, if any weight is to be thrown it should be on my shoulders...not hers.

I walk into the room, seeing Aurei sit on the bed, staring straight ahead.

"Hey...." I said, she looks up at me, hugging her knees.

"Hey." She said with pure dullness in her voice. I walk up to her, sitting beside her.

"What's on your mind?" I ask, she shrugs.

"That man disgusted me....I'm thinking of what you said after Joe..." Aurei said, moving over to rest her head on my shoulder, I look down at her.

"I had a nightmare yesterday...." Aurei adds.

"What about?" I ask softly. Aurei scoots away from me, looking up to face me.

"That you left me....and I was alone...." Aurei said, my heart breaks to see her unhappy.....although I can't whine and cry about how everything is gone....

"I'll never leave you..." I reassure her, pulling her into a hug.

"Promise?" Aurei asks.

"I promise." I reassure her, Aurei pulls away. I shake her head playfully, she grins.

"Another thing...." I said. She looks up at me.

"Don't be afraid." I said grabbing her shoulders. She nods. The door opens to, I look up to see Lilith walking in, grinning a small grin at Aurei.

"I'm checking to see if you're okay...I'm sorry about what happened." She said, lowering her head. Aurei nods...Lilith is one of the sweetest people I've met....

"I'm okay." Aurei said, pursing her lips.

"Well if you need anything, I'm always here." Lilith chirps, Aurei quietly waves and she closes the door.

"I like her." Aurei said with a small grin.

"Okay, get some sleep, tomorrow we have to tell Dr. Mayfield about what happened." I said, she puts her gun on the table then she turns to me.
