Cold Shoulder

Not a word is said right now....Dakota looked out the window, Tessa kept applying pressure to Gordon's arm to keep the blood flowing, it couldn't have worked.

What is wrong with me?? I nearly strangled her to death...maybe I do need some time to figure myself out, which means I can't be around Aurei too much. I want her to be better than me in every way possible.

Joe's cruel laugh rings my ears.

Avery, you ain't shit.

"We're here, Avery do you want to talk-" Zayn asks me.

I get up then walked into the asylum, I could hear footsteps behind me.

"What is your problem?" I hear Zayn snap.

"I'm sorry, but I don't really want to talk to Fernando right now, especially when I almost killed someone today." I said, opening the door and going upstairs.

Aurei walks downstairs with her rifle.

"Avery!" She says quietly with a smile, I coldly walk past her without saying anything.

I walk upstairs, I bump into someone.

"Avery, are you okay?" I back away to see Jocelyn staring straight at me, she had her hand on my shoulder.

I slowly nod my head, I get lead up another flight of stairs, Jocelyn squeezes my wrist as she opens the door to the roof.

"Go ahead, let it out." Jocelyn said.

"No, everytime I do someone gets hurt." I said, stopping her in her tracks. I don't cry.

"What happened?" Jocelyn asks.

"We cut off Gordon's arm." I said bluntly, Jocelyn's eyes widen, I forgot they had a thing together, and they fooled around a bit. Jocelyn turns around silently.

"May I ask you something?" Jocelyn asks quietly.

"I want to live." Jocelyn said, I furrow my eyebrows. My mind was running wild at how I treated that kid.....and that kid is my sister.

"And you will." I said.

"If I kill someone to live will God forgive me?" Jocelyn asks.

"No, it depends, are they threatening you?" I ask.

"She's a close friend of mine, if I kill her will I be okay again?" Jocelyn asks.

"No, killing someone for no reason makes you a monster." I said, both to Jocelyn and myself.

"I understand, this is definitely how it is." Jocelyn says.

"Thanks for listening." I said with a sigh.

"Thank you, I'll try my best." Jocelyn said with triumph in her voice.

"If you want, I could speak to Fernando about the person you don't feel safe around." I said, lightly tapping her shoulder, she looks at me with a puzzled look on her face.

"Did you say something?" Jocelyn asks.

Then I realize.....she's schizophrenic.

"I need to go." I said quickly.

I walk back downstairs, I hear a blood curdling scream, I immediately run downstairs to see Fernando's wife, her eyes were wide open, so it's a murder.

Fernando was hovering over her body, shaking his fists violently.

"Whoever had done this....they have hell to pay." Fernando growls, Tessa scowls at me.

"Avery, let's all be honest here. You did it." Tessa said. Aurei glares at her.

"You're wrong, Avery wouldn't kill anybody that didn't do anything to her." Aurei snaps.

"Funny." Tessa said.

I push Aurei away from Tessa, Aurei remains silent.

"Avery wouldn't do something like this, unless someone tried to hurt her." Aurei protests, I look over my shoulder to glare at Aurei, her eyes widen but she closes her mouth. She crosses her arms.

"For now on, we're having night watch, I don't care how tired you are, we're going to find out who did this." Fernando said, walking away from his wife's body, roughly brushing past us.

Tessa glares at me.

"Just admit it, you're already a terrible sister, you're too hard on her." Tessa said.

"Stop it." Aurei pleads, giving Tessa a warning stare.

"No, she's cold with you." Tessa snaps.

"You know what Tessa? I had enough of your shit, wanna go?" I ask, preparing my fists. Aurei runs between us.

"Stop before this gets worse." Aurei pleads.

"Move." I growl, shoving Aurei away.

"Let's go, maybe your inner killer will come out." Tessa says, I punch her in the face so hard her head hits the wall, she headbutts me, causing me to stagger back, I ignore the blood running down my nose then I grabbed her by the hair, she yells as I throw her on the ground.

"You're a killer." Tessa coughs. I tackle her, Aurei struggles to pull me off, Tessa grimaces.

"Do it. Kill me." Tessa growls. I wildly punch her in the face.

"Avery. Stop." Aurei yells, pulling me off, she glares at me.

"Avery. She's down." Aurei said between pants.

I look down to see Fernando's wife moving towards Aurei, I grab my dagger then stabbed her by the back of her skull.

I walk back towards Tessa.

"I may have killed people in the past, but I am not a monster." I yell. Tessa stands up, her eyes wide.

"Fuck you." Tessa said, spitting in my face.

I hear footsteps and Zayn just stared at me.

"Tessa and I had a fight, it's over now, I'm going upstairs to cool off."

Aurei stares at me, she hugs me.

"I know I'm hard on you Aurei, but promise me...." I said, kneeling down on one knee.

"That you will be better, like you were just now." I said.

"I will." Aurei said, hugging me around the neck, I pat her back.

"God knows what I'm becoming but I'll be damned if you become something worst than me." I said, Aurei pulls away.

"I'm not like you Avery." Aurei said boldly, looking me in the eye.

"Because you're brave." I said.

"I'm sorry for being out of control, but I already freaked out on her in the van.....and it's not something I'm proud of." I explain.

"Okay." She says, nodding her head.

I get up quickly, walking down the hall and into the small cafeteria, to see another body, people were surrounding it.

"What happened?" Zayn asks.

"I don't know, Janne just sat down and begun eating, then she said she was feeling funny then she collapsed." Someone explains.

On top of this all, we have a killer on our hands.
