Chapter #7

--) Robyn's POV (--

As we walked down the pathway, my thoughts kept wandering back to Daniel. Would there be a funeral? Do SHIELD agents even get funerals? I pondered over these questions when we entered a large, circle stone area with beautiful lights hanging all around. There was loud music playing from speakers, and people were dancing everywhere. Just as I was about to start dancing and singing with everyone else, a slow song started playing.

I watched as people paired up with others, some staying off to the side. I turned to leave, but Loki was standing right behind me, making me jump. "You gotta stop doing that!" I yelped, startled. He grinned and took my hand. "Would you care to dance?" he said, his grin broadening. I thought about it only a moment, and replied "Of course."

Still grinning, Loki led me into the circle area and showed me how to slow dance. I continuously stepped on his feet, but he didn't seem to mind every time I looked at him apologetically.

I was looking at my feet, trying to get it right, when Loki lifted my chin so I was looking in his eyes. "Wha-" I tried to say before he cut me off with a kiss. I was surprised for a moment, and almost backed away. But then I kissed him back, right there in front of all these people. How embarrassing.

When we finally pulled apart, I was smiling like an idiot and blushing red like a tomato. Loki looked at me and laughed. I tried to look menacing, like You better stop laughing at me but all that got was another laugh from Loki. "You mortals are so cute when you try to be angry." he said, leaning in closer to me. I gave up trying to look menacing and leaned against his chest as we swayed back and forth.

Suddenly the music stopped. People looked around, confused, but then loud music started playing again. It started out with what sounded sort of like a piano, and I instantly recognized it. I smiled at Loki again, who just looked generally confused. "What?" he asked. "This is one of my favourite songs!" I explain happily, waiting for the lyrics to start.

I can hold my breath..

I can bite my tongue..

I can stay awake for days, if that what you want,

I can fake a smile..

I can force a laugh..

I can dance and play the part, if that's what you ask, give you all I am.

I was singing along now, twirling and dancing around an ever confused Loki, except now he was looking at me and smiling. I grinned back at him, continuing my twirling dance of hand gestures.

Just before the chorus started, I couldn't stop myself any longer. I took off my sweater and unfurled my wings, making sure not to hit anyone. Amazingly, no one ran away. They either stared for a moment or ignored me completely. Loki looked a bit startled.

But I'm only human,

And I bleed when I fall down.

I was doing twirls and flips in the air, and by now I had gained the attention of many people. I saw Loki watching me intently, I smile of his lips.
