Soft sunlight drifted through my window, waking me. I grumbled and pulled the covers over my head.

After we had gotten home, I had played boardgames with Loki until late in the night. Half the time, however, was spent explaining to Loki how you couldn't just "enslave everyone while you're playing Monopoly" which he insisted he could. I had grabbed the rulebook and showed Loki how there wasn't a "Take Over The World" card, and all he had to say was "I can do what I want". He was so infuriating. I smiled at the funny memory.

I sat up in bed, swinging my feet over the edge of the bed. No birds chirped by my window today. I didn't think twice about it.

I walked over to my dresser and picked out my clothes for today. I put on a white t-shirt with a dark grey hoodie over top. I pulled some slightly baggy jeans on and brushed my hair, quickly pulling it back into my red scarf. I unfurled my wings through the back slits. It felt good to stretch them, they were starting to get a little cramped.

I stepped out into the living room to find it empty. Peering into the other bedroom, I found Loki fast asleep. Cute.

I walked around to the kitchen and started making breakfast.

Too dark. I couldn't see two feet in front of me, even with the burning torch I was carrying. I hesitantly stepped forward with nothing else to do. My heart pounded in my chest, my breath came in quick gasps. I jumped as I heard a scream.

It sounded familiar. Was it...? Robyn! I started running forward, but the screams just surrounded me. I ran in blind directions, not knowing where I was going or what I was looking for.

Then I took a step, but there was no floor beneath my foot. My heart fell to my feet, and I tried to jump back. But I couldn't. The torch slipped from my grasp, and I fell. I fell fast, the screams continuing to surround me. After far too long of a fall, I felt cold ground beneath me. Then flaring pain, and the screams grew, before I jumped awake.

"Loki!" I heard a female voice yell. Hands were on my shoulders, shaking me, and I grabbed them. "Oh shit! Let me go!" she cried. My eyes came into focus and I realized it was Robyn. I hastily let go of her arms and mumbled an apology. Robyn rubbed her arms where I had grabbed her.

"Did I ever tell you you have an insanely good grip?" she said, smirking. I just sat up and looked away. I was all sweaty from my dream, and I remembered it vividly. Robyn dropped her smirk and sat next to me. "Hey" she said gently, putting her arm on my back. I put my head in my hands and sighed. "D'you want to talk about it?" she asked gently. I shook my head softly and got up. Robyn's hand dropped to her lap. She looked worried.

I sighed, looking at her. "I'm fine. Really" I said unconvincingly. Robyn took a deep breath. She smiled warily, obviously not believing my blunt lies. I wasn't okay. That dream shook me, no matter how ridiculous that seemed. It felt ominous.

Finally Loki emerged from his bedroom. He looked better now after he had taken a shower, but he still looked haunted from the nightmare.

I had just finished making bacon and eggs and set them down on a plate in front of him. "Thanks" he said, eating quickly. I smiled a ate my breakfast as well.

As soon as we were done, I brought the dishes back into the kitchen and sat on the couch. Loki came and sat on the other end. "Do you have any more Midgardian plans for today?" he asked with a slight smirk.

"Well, while you were in the shower, Tony called and asked if I wanted to go for shwarma in a bit" I said, looking at him. He met my gaze. "So you're leaving me here?" he asked, sounding hurt. "I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to" I said sheepishly. "They'd kill you, and that's the last thing I want" I reasoned, but Loki just looked pouty.
