Eleven
Whitney: Twenty Questions.
"Wanna play twenty questions?" I asked Nathan.
"Why?"
"I want to get to know you better." I replied.
"You don't know everything about me already?" He asked.
"Uhm... No?"
"Oh. Sorry. I guess I'm just so used to fans coming up and telling me everything about... me."
"Oh... well... I don't know everything about you. But I want to."
"You know, we don't have to play twenty questions for you to find out everything."
"We don't" I asked, wondering what he was getting at.
"Yeah, you could always just Google me." He snickered.
I laughed, rolled my eyes, and playfully punched him on his arm. "I would rather hear it from you." I said.
"Ok. You first." He said, leaning back on the blanket and resting on his elbows.
"Alright. Uhm... What's your middle name?"
"Lucas."
"Really?"
"Yeah." He said, looking at the ground, "I don't like it."
"Nathan Lucas Parker." I pondered that, "I think it sounds nice."
"You're the only one." He laughed, "What's your middle name?"
"Annabelle." I said proudly.
"You like it?" He asked.
"Yes, I do."
"Whitney Annabelle Bradford. I like it, it goes together well.
"Thank you." I smiled, "What's your favorite color?"
"Blue. What's yours?"
"Blue. But not just a normal blue; like a Caribbean blue or a navyish blue. I like aqua and turquoise a lot too.
Nathan laughed.
"Favorite fast food place?" I asked.
"In-N-Out Burger. Yours?"
"Chick-Fil-A. They have the best chicken."
"Do you have a girlfriend?" I asked, I hadn't thought about it before, but now it occurred to me that he might have a famous girlfriend or something, like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato...
"No." He answered, interrupting my train of thought.
Thank God.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Nope."
"Do you want a girlfriend?" I asked as innocently as I could.
"I'm not like searching for one. But a nice sincere girlfriend would be great."
Hmmm... I'm sincere. Didn't Mrs. Parker just tell me yesterday that I'm very genuine? I smiled.
"Your turn." I said.
"This morning." Nathan said, "Your dream... Do you really like me?"
"It was just a dream." I said softly, looking out into the distance, avoiding eye contact at all costs. I heard him sigh. But... honestly I'm not making this up... it wasn't an "I'm relieved" sigh, it sounded more like a "Crap, All My Dreams Have Just Been Crushed" sigh.
Did he want me to say it was something more?
I had wanted to, but I'm not the kind to share my feelings first. It started getting kind of awkward until Nathan said, "Your turn."
"Hmmm... do your crazy outrageous fans every annoy you?" I asked him, still thinking about the question before.
"Sometimes, But I mostly love them, I mean they support us so much, without them we wouldn't be as successful as we are. But I must admit, when someone comes up to me and knows every single detail of my life or when people camp outside my hotel room just to get a look at me up close, it can be a bit overwhelming. But it's a great confidence booster." He said with a laugh.
I laughed too.
