Chapter 24 | A Night to Remember
Two weeks had passed and things were going very well with Raysen. The kids at school weren't really fond of us together, but it didn't bug me too much. There would occasionally be whispers when we were holding hands or hugging, but he would just hold me tighter, making me feel safe.
"I have reservations for us at Enigma, tonight at 7:00," Ray said, coming behind me and circling his arms around my waist.
I smiled at his gesture. Sadie in front of me rolled her eyes at us. She and Toby were doing really well. They were progressing slowly, but surely.
"How did you get reservations there? I've been trying for months!" Sadie exclaimed.
Raysen laughed, "I have connections."
I turned around and looked up at him, wrapping my arms around his waist too. "That place is so expensive, you could've just taken me to McDonald's."
He shook his head, "You deserve the best."
I tiptoed to kiss his cheek. He's been so sweet to me ever since we started dating. I never pegged him to be such a sweetheart, to begin with.
"This means, I have to wear my fanciest clothes don't I?" I smiled.
"Yup, it's a black tie restaurant. I have another surprise for you after dinner as well."
"You don't have to do all of these things, babe. I'm fine with cuddling and a movie," I suggested.
He gave me a cheeky smile. "I promise, we'll do that the next time."
"You two are so cute," Mia came up to stand next to Sadie.
"He got reservations to Enigma for them!" Sadie complained.
Mia giggled. "Your turn will come."
She scoffed, "Yeah in like another year."
"I'll pick you up at 6:30," Ray mumbled into my ear.

I searched through the deep ends of my closet where all my fancy clothes were stored. I didn't go out that often to wear all the dresses I owned, hence why they were kept in the back.
A red haltered dress caught my eye first. It was a nice pop of color that was appealing to the eyes. I took it off of the hanger and laid it on my bed. The tag was still on the dress from when I bought it forever ago.
I cut the tag off and slipped it on. The dress fit perfectly, outlining my curves in the slightest way, that was not too tight and not too loose. My makeup and hair were already done, I just needed to find my gold heels.
The gold accents on the heels completed the outfit really well.
Soon later, I got a text from Ray saying that he was waiting for me downstairs.
Right as I was about to step out of the door, mom stopped me.
"Jade, Honey, wait!" she exclaimed.
I turned around to see what she needed. "Call Raysen inside, I want to take a picture of you guys. You look so pretty!"
I laughed, "Alright, mom."
I stepped outside, only to find Ray in a nice tux, leaning on his car.
Gosh, does this boy get any hotter?
He picked his head up to look at me. "Damn, my girlfriend's looking as beautiful as always."
"Thank you," I smiled. "My mom wants you to come in so we can take pictures."
He chuckled and grabbed my hand. "Let's go inside, then."
