Thirty-two

"Skyle june" I hear my name being called. I look at mikey and he grips my hand "ill be here when you get back" i look at him and smile

I stand up "im here" i say as i walk to the back with a man in a dark suit. "Mr.hast will be with you in a moment" the man in the suit says with a smile i just nod

I start twiddling my thumbs when a man walks in "hello Mrs.June how are you today?" I smile "good"

He smiles at me "thats good now is this your first time in therapy?" I nod "it says here on your chart youve been feeling depressed would you like to tell me why?"

I shrug "its a long story" Mr.hast chuckles "we have an hour" I smile "i guess youre right"

"Ok when i was 14 I dated this girl named caroline" I stop and look at his expression expecting him to look disgusted but he doesnt he just motions for me to continue

"On our one year i took her to the fair shed never been to one before, after awhile of being there we decided to get something to drink she ended up needing to pee and i was gonna go with her but she insisted on us just meeting at a bench when we were done"

tears started forming in my eyes "i waited at the bench for a little bit but she never showed i searched Everywhere for her but didnt find her turns out she'd been brutally murdered and raped"

Mr.Hast starts writing stuff down "im very sorry for your loss mrs.june" I frown "yeah me too"

Mr.hast looks at me "would you like to tell me about that scar? If not its ok" I nod "itd rather not"

He smiles "it's ok maybe another time, is there anything you'd like to tell me about yourself" I shrug "i dont wanna be here"

Hast's eyebrows nit together "then why are you here?" He says kindly. I look at the blank wall "my boyfriend mikey thinks itll help"

Hast smiles "youve got a good boyfriend" I smile "i know".

"Well ms.june our time is up see you this weekend?"

I nod "so we'll be meeting every monday Wednesday Friday and Sunday?" He smiles "yes"

I walk out to Mikey to see him asleep in his chair i poke his nose he jerks awake "hey sky you about to go back?"

I laugh "actually im getting out" he facepalms "fuck i knew that"

I laugh "mhm"

We make it out to his car and he opens the door for me "wanna go out to eat?" I smile "yeah"

After a little bit we pull into longhorn and both get out "come on baby lets go"

I smile "we didnt have to come here coulda went to McDonald's" mikey laughs "nah im feeling fancy" I chuckle "i guess"

We walk in and wait for someone to seat us "hi my name is stella and i'l- mikey is that you?"

Mikey looks up and grins picking the girl up in a hug. Anger flows through me "um hello?" Mikey sits the girl down "sky meet my little sister stell meet sky"

My anger evaporates and i smile "hi" she waves "stell is 15 and works as a hostess" i smile "thats cool"

"Well lets go so i can seat you" stella says and walks us to a booth. "Mikey I'll get you guys a free appetizer ok bubba?" Mikey smiles "okay"

I smile at her "its nice to meet you by the way" she smiles back "likewise" with that she walks off.

I look at mikey "your sister is so cute and nice" he smiles "im glad you like her"

30 minutes later our appetizer is served and our waiter appears "sorry for the wait folks im betty and ill be your server can i get you something to drink?"

Mikey nods towards me "a sweet tea?" She smiles "of course doll and you sir?" Mikey puts his finger on his chin "a cherry coke will do"

Betty smiles "will do and to eat?" Mikey smiles "I'll have a medium rare steak with some mashpotatoes and you sky?" I smile and look at the menu "some breaded shrimp? With a medium rare steak?"

Betty smiles "ok itll be right out"

"Is that ok mikey?" He smiles at me "why wouldnt it be?" I laugh "because its kinda expensive"

He rolls his eyes "i have a job for a reason" I laugh "whatever"

Suddenly his little sister walks up to our table "i get off at 6 will you take me home bubba?" Mikey looks at the time "its 5:30 stell can i take you after we're done?"

Stella smiles "yeah I'll hang out with my friend Rebecca" mikey smiles "ok"

I smile "you guys are so sweet"

Betty appears with our food "Here yall go" i smile at her "thank you so much" she smiles back "no problem, can i get you anything else?"

Mikey smiles "not just yet maybe some desert later though"

Betty smiles "will do"

Mikey looks at me and waites for betty to leave before leaning in "im leaving her a $500 tip"

I gasp "oh my god where do you even work" mikey laughs "my family is rich and i work in their business so im a little rich white boy"

I chuckle "you're a noob is what you are"

"I love you sky" I wince but quickly smile "i love you too mikey"

Every time someone says that to me i think of caroline and how much it must upsets her to see me with other people

I push my thoughts away and look at mikey "you almost done?" He smiles "actually im about to order desert want any?"

I smile "some chocolate cake please" he chuckles "anything for you bug"

We wait for betty to come back to our table "you folks need anything?" Mikey smiles "one chocolate fudge cake and one strawberry cheesecake"

Betty smiles "of course and let me take some of these plates of your hands"

"Thanks" i say with a smile

After we were done with everything we head out to look for mikeys sister "did you leave her that tip?" He smiles "yup all in cash with a note saying keep the change left her $500 exactly"

I smile "youre such a good person" he smirks "i know"

We turn a corner to see his sister playing on her phone "come on stell lets get you home"

Once we're in the car stella looks at Mikey "actually bubba can I come to your house? Mother said she wants me to start staying with you i was gonna call you but you ended up showing up"

Mikey puts on his thinking face "um"
