I step onto the bus and make my way to the back where Laura sits. She was wide awake as usual. I've never seen this girl tired in my life. I on the other hand was a walking zombie. I barely got any sleep after having that wet dream about Alex. Luckily, I put on extra makeup to hide the horrid bags underneath my eyes.
"Good morning Donut!" Laura says joyfully.
"Good morning Laur!" I reply sleepily.
"You look dead. What were you doing last night? Lemme guess, Alex?" She looks at me with one eyebrow raised.
"Sorta..We talked on the phone for awhile and he asked me to be his homecoming date," I said nonchalantly.
"OMG! Adele that's awesome. Ahhhh, this is so exciting..." She hyperventilates like a fangirl.
"I don't think it'll hit me until the day of. I can't wait Laur!" I say with a sudden burst of energy.
Homecoming Night
Today's the big day. My parents don't know that I'm going to homecoming. I lied and told them that I was spending the night at Laura's house for the weekend which I am, but if they knew that I was going anywhere with a boy I would be in so much trouble.
Anyway, in just over a month, Alex and I seemed to be getting close. Outside of school, we talk on the phone every single day. I've even gone to two of his football games and met his family there. Everything seems like it's moving fast, but I don't really mind it at all and neither does he. We've also kissed several times, but nothing more than that. We're both just, "going with the flow!"
Laura helped me pick out my dress for homecoming tonight. I wanted to go for something more conservative, but Laura convinced me to wear something sexy to show off my curves. I decided to go with black, my favorite color and some shimmer.
Laura also did my makeup because she's good with the fancy stuff. I wanted to go with something more than my usual natural look. I added some loose curls to my hair and some hairspray to give it a little volume. I put on my heels that matched my dress and stood in front of the mirror that was in Laura's room, making sure everything was perfect and adding the final touches to my outfit.
