(Sorry it's been a few days guys, but I was really tired! This chapter might be a little slow, but I think it's needed for the story. Anyway, here we go!!!!!!)

Lewis' POV:

I looked up at the starry sky and sighed. I couldn't sleep. Hannah was gone for who knows how long and it was all my fault. I stood up careful not to wake Simon. I walked up to the cliff, sat down and looked out across the fast woods in front of me. It was beautiful. A shimmering lake was in the middle of the trees and was glowing from the light of the full moon. If only Hannah was here. I began to cry silently, burying my head in my pulled up knees. A hand was placed on my shoulder and I looked behinf me. "Don't worry friend, we'll find her." Simon says in a comforting tone.

"Thanks buddy." I reply quietly wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Duncan is on his way and he will be here tommorrow to see if he can open the portal."

"I know. But I can't help but feel like it's my fault."

"Trust me, it's not! You did what you thought you had to do to save her."

"I guess you're right."

"Of course I'm right! Now try to get some sleep. Push all bad thoughts out of you mind."

We both walked over to where we were sleeping. I lay down on the soft grass and closed my eyes. Soon I was drifting away to dreamland.

Hannah's POV:

I drifted through empty space for a few seconds, the tears streaming from my eyes. I land with a jolt on the tough ground. I pull myself up to my knees, my head spinning. I looked at the portal and I began to weep even more. I scream as I see the portal has closed behind me. My head is still spinning and the feeling of dizziness, fear and pain make me throw up. I continue to cry and I throw up again. I stand up slowly, my whole body shaking. I look around at my surroundings and am surrounded by tall trees obscuring the setting sun. I need a light source. The torch I had dropped out of my hand when I was kidnapped so I had nothing. But before I started looking around for twigs and rocks, questions came to my mind. Where was I? Am I in a new world? Who kidnapped me? Was I ever going to be able to go home? I thought about these for a few minutes and came up with no answers so I decided to look around for things to make a fire with.

I started looking through the long grass for twigs and sticks. I picked up a pile of wood and walked over to the portal, placed it down and began looking for rocks. After half an hour of searching I had managed to collect enough stones to build my fire. I put the rocks apart from two in a circle with an empty space in the middle. I also had some dry grass and placed it in the middle of the circle with some small twigs. I grabbed the two rocks I had left to the side and began to strike them together. Please give me a spark! A light appeared from the clashing of the rocks and the dried twigs and grass went up into a blaze of flames. Slowly I added larger twigs and sticks. Heat and light. I was hungry but I had no way of getting food. I sat on the soft grass looking at the flames and tears dropped from my red, bloodshot eyes. I lay down looking at the stars above me. I thought of Lewis. I wish he was here. I just want a hug from his warm, welcoming arms. Then the light was gone...

Simon's POV:

I woke up with the sun dawning, birds tweeting in my ears and an empty space next to me where Lewis had been sleeping. I sat up with sleep still in my eyes. He was once again sitting at the edge of the cliff but this time not crying. No doubt he was waiting for Duncan to arrive. I walked over and sat down next to him. He turned his head and smiled at me. "Morning." Lewis said chirpily.

"Good Morning." I replied "You were up early."

"I know I just wanted to wait for Duncan to arrive so he could see what he could do."

"I guessed so."

He looked back across the cliff and looked sad. We sat there for an hour talking about anything that came up and then we heard footsteps behind us and a familiar voice. "Hello Guys!" Duncan said happily. We turned our heads and stood up. "Hello." Lewis and I said together.

"Right, where is the portal!" Duncan says excitedly.

"Down there" Lewis replies while pointing off the edge of the cliff.

"Down there!?" Duncan says shocked. "So your saying when Hannah went through the portal she fell off the cliff!"

Lewis looked down at his feet and with pain in his voice he replied with a simple "Yes."

Duncan walked over to the cliff and took the bag he was carrying off his back. He placed it on the floor and unzipped it pulling out some strange materials. First he pulled out a strange purple gem, then a bit of flint and finally some sort of liquid in a test tube. "What's the liquid?"

"Oh that! It's a mix of blood, tears and skin."

"What the hell!" I say disgusted by the strange concoction in his hand.

Duncan warned us to stand back and after we took ten steps back, he held his arms out in front of him. In his left hand was the purple gem and in his right was the flint. He struck the purple stone with the flint and it glowed for a second, then went up in flames. Duncan quickly dropped the lit gem off the cliff towards the portal. He knelt down picked up the liquid, unscrewed the top and poured it into the portal frame below. I screeched pierced my ears once again from the times before and then a loud boom erupted from the bottom of the cliff. Lewis and ran over and all three of us leaned over the cliffs edge. "Well," I said, "What do we do now?"

"I guess we go through!" Lewis said a smile on his face.

Lewis leaned forward and fell off the front of the cliff. I turned away waiting for the smack on the floor but all I heard was the portal screeching. By the time I had turned around again Duncan was falling off with his arm stretched the side. I looked down as he did a flip through the air and entered the portal with the screech following. "I guess there is only one way down." I said to my self a quiver in my voice. I stood at the very edge of the cliff and stepped forward. The wind hit me as I fell down through empty space and I entered the dark purple portal, closely followed by the usual screech.

(Well there we go guys! I'm sorry this chapter took so long to come out but I've been tired and I was trying to find a way to make this chapter a bit of a break from the action but still interesting to read. Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading and I will see you see you all in the next chapter! Matty Out.)
