Chapter 12: Relationship Problems

(Hello everyone! I wrote this chapter really quickly and I really like it! Anyway I don't know what to say apart from: ENJOY!)

Hannah's POV:

The sword thrusts forward. My eyes flood with tears. My mouth opens into a scream. My legs begin to weaken. My heart begins to slow. His body begins to slump. The sword penetrates his chest. Blood begins to stain his blue and white striped shirt. His eyes begin to drain of life. His mouth opens in shock. His heart stopped beating. "Lewis. " I whisper. The sword pulls out of his body. The sword pushes towards me. Pain fills my body. The eyes stare into mine. The pleased smile. My eyes cloud over. I slip away from life, along with the love of my life.

I wake with a scream. Lewis comes up to me quickly. "Are you OK!?" Lewis urges.
"I'm fine. Just a bad dream." I say while my body still shakes and sweat soaks my blue shirt and hair. I wipe the sweat from my forehead and look into Lewis' welcoming eyes. Duncan and Simon are standing up and wiping sleep out of their eyes. I wrap my arms around Lewis, clinging for safety. "Group hug is it?" Simon says. I let out a little laugh. I stand up and hug him. "You always make me laugh you silly little dwarf!" I pick up my owl hat and sit next to the fire. I wish I was home. With my owls, practicing witchcraft, helping sell portable pools and being safe. I will return home! No matter what!

Lewis' POV:

Maybe this was a bad idea. I mean what was I thinking. How were we going to find Hannah's captor! Sometimes I come up with the dumbest ideas. Hannah sits by the fire staring into the flames and Duncan and Simon are settling back down to sleep. I walk over and sit down next to Hannah. I put my arm around her, pulling her close. "I love you." I say lovingly, "And I won't let anything bad happen to you."

"I know. I just want to go home." She replies sadly.

"Me too."

"No you don't!" She turns to face me, pushing my arm away. "You made us continue further! Just so you could get your stupid revenge!"

"That person hurt you." I say, shocked at her anger.

"I don't care! Your lust for revenge is corrupting your mind!"

"I just want justice!" My voice is beginning to sound angry.

"Justice?! What justice?! All you want to do is hurt the person who hurt me!"

"He nearly killed you!"

"I don't care! You're trying to solve violence with violence."

"What else do you suggest we do?"

"We leave! We leave this place, close the portal and never return!"

"I am not leaving until the person who took you is at least taken back with us and put in a cell!"

"This is what I'm saying! All you want to do is get revenge!"

"Of course I do! I'm protecting my love."

"You are not the man I fell in love with!!" She spits at me, tears in her eyes. Hannah stands up and walks away from me. She sits down and curls up into a ball. Sobbing silently. I sit looking at the fire which perfectly reflects my mood. Almost like a mirror for your emotions. I hear steps behind me but I don't bother turning around. A hand places on my shoulder. "Are you OK friend?" Simon asks me.

My head snaps to him. "Of course I'm not OK!" I scream in his face.

"I'm sorry. I was just asking." Simon says while lowering his head.

I can see I've clearly hurt his feelings. "Well don't!" I stand up and walk into the curtain of night.

Hannah's POV:

I've never really had a fight with Lewis before. We were always so close and loving. I think of all my friends back home and cry even harder. I've probably ruined our relationship. I think of our house back in our world. All the good times we had. All the memories I have. Our first kiss, building the house, getting Mr Owl as a pet, working at Yoglabs together. Coming to this place! "Hannah?" I hear Simon say, "Are you OK? Do you want a hug?" I lift my head and see the dwarf looking down at me sadly. I nod my head. "Come here. Everything is going to be OK." I hug Simon, tears falling from my bloodshot eyes. "Lewis just wants to protect you."

"I know. But he's going to get himself killed. Or even worse all of us." I manage to say in between sobs.

"He won't let that happen. I promise." I pull away looking at his smiling face. I think about the dream. Lewis dying before my eyes. His slumped body. His blood dripping to the floor. The sword piercing my chest. The glowing purple eyes. The mouth in a smiling grin as he watches me die. The darkness. I begin to cry again and I once again hug Simon. My mind trapped in my nightmare.

Lewis' POV:

I hate myself! Not only have I hurt Hannah's feelings, I've also hurt Simon's. Tears begin to roll down my cheeks. My eyes adjust to the dark, as the blaze behind has abandoned me. Hannah hates me. I've ruined our love. She's right I've been blinded by the want for blood. I'm a monster and a terrible boyfriend. If I turn back now Simon and Duncan will get angry at me and Hannah will probably break up with me. I guess I'll be staying in the dark tonight. This place always brings bad news. Whenever something feels right, something goes wrong. Two lights interrupt my thoughts. Two purple, glowing lights. They seem to be moving. Moving closer. Towards me. A voice whispers to me "Lewis...Come closer..." It repeats over and over. "Who's there?" I ask, a shake in my voice. I try to move backwards and run but my feet are planted to the floor. I try to shout for my friends but only a small squeak comes from my mouth. The glowing lights are a few feet away from me now and I realise they are eyes. "It's such a shame you came here." The voice says, "If only I had left. Never mind though I'm sure you will all be very happy here. Living in fear. And if you thought you were going to try to leave, I would think again. I've closed off the portals. You will never leave here as long as I rule this world with a beating heart. I am a God." A beam of purple hits me square in the chest and I am thrown onto the floor. I scream in pain and in the distance I hear Hannah shout my name...

(What a chapter! A lot went down in this chapter and I loved writing it! I really hope you enjoyed this chapter because this has been one of my favourites to write.
