"What the fuck?!" Aaron exclaimed as his boyfriend entered their shared dorm. He looked battered and worn down, bruises covering his face, his nose bleeding. "What the hell happened to you?!" Aaron shot up from where he had been peacefully lounging on the couch to assist Charles in sitting down, careful not to hurt the man as he helped him to the couch.
"John motherfucking Laurens," Charles growled, rolling his eyes. Aaron left his side to go to the kitchen. He returned soon after, a damp washcloth in his hands.
"Why would he do this to you?" Charles winced as Aaron pressed the washcloth to a cut on his face.
"All I did was say some shit about Washington," Charles shrugged. "And then his boyfriend got all mad and made John fight me because he didn't want to get in trouble himself. Damn coward."
"And you actually agreed to fight him?!" Aaron asked angrily, giving Charles a stern scowl.
"I wasn't going to back down, babe," Charles said defensively. Aaron rolled his eyes, continuing to address Charles' wounds.
"I've told you before not to mess with Alex and John. You could've gotten seriously hurt, Charlie," Aaron said, a hint of worry in his tone. Charles gave him a small weak smile.
"But I didn't," he said, looking at Aaron with loving eyes. "I got a black eye, Aaron. I'm fine."
Aaron huffed, sticking out his bottom lip. "You're not listening to me. My point is that you could have not been fine. And then what would I do?"
Charles chuckled, grabbing Aaron by the waist, pulling him down close to his chest. "Like I said, I'm fine."
Aaron sighed, resting his head on Charles' chest. "Promise me you won't intentionally piss off Alex or John any more. Please?" Charles smiled softly, rubbing Aaron's back. "Charles Lee do not give me that sweet smile, pretending like I didn't just ask you something really important. I'm not letting this go until you promise me."
Charles huffed, rolling his eyes. "Fine, I promise."
Aaron smiled, letting Charles wrap his arms around him.
"Good."
