"Do you guys want to stop at the Arch before we head to the new house?" My dad asks us as we finally entire St. Louis. Ben and I both say sure, sitting in the back of our dad's beat up truck. When we get there Ben gets my wheelchair out of the trunk, folding it out.
"You ready sis?" Ben asks and looks at me after setting up my chair. I nod and take off my seat belt. He picks me up and puts me in my wheelchair, unlocking the brakes for me. My dad gets out of the truck and locks it, handing me my fingerless gloves.
"Thank you guys" I smile and put my gloves on before my brother and I head toward the Arch, our dad staying by the truck. Ben notices that I'm having trouble wheeling through the grass so he stops and smiles at me. "Wanna go fast sis?" He asks. "Hell yes" I say with a giggle, putting on my seat belt. Ben grabs onto the handlebars of my chair, starting to run.
I smile and laugh, tightly holding onto the armrests of my chair. People give us weird looks, but neither of us care. Ben keeps running until we get up to the Arch. We both look up at it and smile. "It's beautiful" I say and smile, looking around. "Yeah, it is" Ben says and locks my brakes, sitting in the grass next to me.
"You nervous to start over at a new school?" He asks and looks up at me. "I am terrified" I look back at him. "At least in Cleveland I knew how everyone was going to treat me and act around me. But, here... I don't know what to expect" I sigh softly, shaking my head.
"Hey, don't worry about it. If anyone gives you any problems, just come to me, or punch them where it really hurts" Ben laughs lightly and moves up onto his knees, hugging me.
"I love you" I say and giggle, hugging him back tight. "I love you too, Mar" He smiles and kisses my cheek, getting up. I smile and flip my brakes. "Ready to head home, bro?" I ask and look up at him.
"Yeah, let's go" He smiles and turns my chair around, pushing me back to the truck. Ben lifts me into the truck and puts my wheelchair back in the trunk, getting in. "You guys ready to see the house?" Our dad asks, looking at us.
"Yeah, we're ready dad" I say and smile, leaning into Ben's side. He smiles and wraps his arm around me.
Our dad smiles at us before starting the truck, driving us to the new house.
